This is a very interesting topic, an essential one even but there are huge issues involved because of the nature of the field, the people involved and the various approaches.

Not all modalities are equal and neither are all practitioners. People don't turn away business and few still admit they aren't equipped to deal with a certain issue because to a man with a hammer everything looks like a nail. Taking it to a deeper level the presenting problem may in fact be a masking device for an underlying issue and so on but they won't know till they've opened the tin and then they can't shove it all back in.

Most people are totally unaware of the potential pitfalls involved when it comes to the inside of their minds and many practitioners have the approach of early tomb raiders blowing up the pyramids with dynamite to gain access. Their approach has the same level of finesse and most of them don't know because of their own ignorance of the higher intellect that built the edifice in the first place.

To put it to you visually, remember this game:

kerplunk_product_4.jpg

Thats an accurate representation of most peoples inner worlds. They are artfully broken and suspended in an uneasy balance. Now if someone comes along and starts poking and prodding, moving and shaking without a full comprehension of whats under the surface (not just personal but multi generational traumatic inheritance which is uniformly ignored) then you can imagine what happens.

The entire field is a minefield because of factors outlined above that are based on institutional ignorance. Sure it offers some solutions, I don't deny that and its better than nothing but it really is something you need to tread carefully with for reasons outlined and even more I haven't got into here.

I've been working on a self directed protocol (ie you do it to you at your own pace) that utilizes the bodies innate wisdom to heal itself as I was so dissatisfied with what I found in the field that I knew I wold have to invent another way. After all, who knows your mind better than your body because its been with you literally each step of the way.
This is real talk :wow:

Therapists can be helpful but one thing people overlook is the fact these therapists are flawed humans who most likely have their own undiagnosed mental issues themselves who just so happen to have a degree that qualifies them to be a therapist.

Did you finish that self directed protocol? :feedme:

Alpha testing it as we speak.

In the interim I just pushed the pen and wrote up this foundational technique I recommend for those who wish to take their first steps in gaining knowledge of Self and healing from the most fundamental level:

"You will require a notepad and two pens. One with black and the other red ink along with the intent and dedication to take twenty to forty five minutes every day at the same time, the same place for twenty one consecutive days to take the foundational steps to rebuild your relationship to the child within."

Let me know how it goes for you or anyone else reading this who wishes to give it a spin because who know you better than your Self, feel me? Let the Games begin! Playtime is in session!

Yeah, celexa helped a lot with my temper. that and therapy helped to make me be more open too. Gave me back a sense of life and purpose.

It's not gonna magically fix everything but I'm not idealizing suicide when things get hard. I realize I can help work on things.

Talk to a psychiatrist and figure out the best meds for you and your issues. You may have to try a few but that doesn't mean they're not working.

Anxiety wise. It helped a lot with not immediately assuming the worst from everybody's action or words. Not thinking too deep into things. It really reminds you that what is attributed to malice, is usually ignorance and not everybody is tryna hurt you.

People's experiences are gonna be different because not everybody is gonna be on the same things, at the same amount or frequency. Like I was prescribed my antidepressants along with Vyvanse to help motivate me some more. Some people may need Xanax or Klonopin with antidepressants. Some may need to take an SSRI vs SNRI.

It all differs and it's best to consult with a psychiatrist than online imo. They'll be able to figure out the best plan for you and see if it's all serotine imbalance or a combo of that and something else.

Just been described buspar and prozac for my anxiety and depression. Deciding to get better for my spring semester of university. Anyone have good experiences with either?

I take lexapro and it was a night and day difference after we upped the dose to 20mg (max dose)
Took about two months to get there because a good Psych will start you off slow.

I was able to better handle my anxiety (realizing I was legit anxious 24/7 365 for 25+ years)

You won't figure that out without a decent outside perspective.

Its not that people overlook it, it's more that within your head is chaos and bias.

So it helps to get an outside perspective who deals with that chaos and bias as a specialty.

I sought a therapist that ONLY deals with severe/long term childhood trauma and her insight is invaluable.
