I haven't seen any poll that states democrats stayed home or voted for Trump because of trans rights issues. But if trans rights are actually divisive then yeah, the messaging should be utterly de-emphasized. Just give the message "trans people are people. They are citizens, and have the same right to healthcare" if pressed.
The next election is actually the most important election.
Autocracy won in 2024.
2028 decides whether autocracy is here to stay or if something resembling actual democracy can live on. For that express purpose, Democrats should not run on or ideally talk about divisive issues and stick to economic populism which the Dems will surely fail at as their corporate donors and consultants will balk at that path.
