Would be what we see in the ME times 20. As much as we talk about oil, there's tons of oil outside of that region, matter of fact if I'm not mistaken Venezuela, Canada and the US are in top 5 or 10 in oil reserves. The world can function without the ME, oil and natural gas are the only ressources needed from there and there's tons of them elsewhere. And sooner or later we'll move away from that. The friction is mostly ideological and political, in the century-old opposition between Europe (and the Christian West) and "Arabia" (and the Muslim world).

On the other hand Africa has all kinds of ressources that are mainly there, including obviously coltan. Add to that gold, diamond, oil too, gas, wood, uranium, etc. You name it, Africa has it. And add to that vast areas of weakly populated fertile land, AND a rising middle-class that represents a vast market everyone wants to sell products to. Basically the world depends much more on Africa (now and in the future) than people realize. Which is why it's in the state it is to this day.

You mean leveraging resources? Until we get a fairer deal?
Oh no...I’m talking about u can come to Africa for a safari visit but the rest of the world gets NADA. Not one crumb.
I think Africa would be fine b/c it can sustain itself off its own resources based on their lifestyles and natural wealth.

The rest of the world would be screwed.

I wonder too. I’ve noticed Ghana extending citizenship to African Americans which is cool as hell. One of my friends just got back and she LOVED it!
I think getting there is the biggest issue. If we had a Black Star Line like Marcus Gravey created maybe we could do it. But Idk if the western world would let us go quietly.

Yep. So many industries we take for granted are completely reliant on African resource rape.

Coffee, minerals, gas, oil...
Like it’s mind boggling to think that our entire way of life is in large part, due to African wealth redistributed.

The rest of the world would just start to develop alternative means of producting high end technological items requiring no cobalt :yeshrug: Being real here. Necessity forces creativity. It would definitely be a major setback, that would affect the economy and way of life of plenty, but not to the scale of what some people are saying.

In terms of diplomacy, the climate would obviously be extremely tense. How do you cut ties with, let's say, an Australian company working in the oil industry in Africa for decades? Just like that? That's breaking the international law on so many levels. And companies are one thing. But how do you say fukk off to the United States of America and their military bases when you just agreed to let them implant them in your territory? If war doesn't occur at short term, what's sure is that there would be no going back. The rest of the world would definitely use repeatedly an argument close to "we helped you for so long and spent so many billions on you while you were struggling, but that's how you do us?". Without, of course, mentioning the fact that their pillaging, corruption and geopolitical manoeuvers detrimental to the African people got them way more out of the deal.

Africa, on the other hand, would have to work greatly on eradicating corruption to really be thriving. Because you have ressources or good infrastructures doesn't mean that wealth is better distributed, or that people are happy, or that wars & instability are over. All these factors plus more would have to be taken into account.
There would also be no room for mistake as an outside of Africa solution would not be available anymore.

Tbh I don't see a scenario where war doesn't occur at some point. We aren't in the XIVth century. Sheeeit, even the XXth century pre-WW2. The world is too connected today, countries are too interlocked together, to allow for one region to say fukk you to everyone like that. There are so many variables. Example: how do we organize aerial transport? Does the continent become a no-fly zone for foreigners all of a sudden? What about the seas? How far does African maritime territories extend now? Is that subject to renegociation? How do you renegociate with somebody you said fukk you to on every level possible?

That would be extremely stupid on the part of the leaders of the continent. If you have the power and agency to assemble like Voltron, why unnecessarily put oil on the fire? Just do your thing, thrive and prosper, and keep cordial relations (that give you profit) with the rest of the world.

The western world wouldn't dream of it. All plans if this would have to be kept secret even from us of the diaspora. Africa would have to close its doors for a number of generations, no western media no nothing, to build a world and people that haven't been raped by the rest of the world. They would face economic sanctions and the western countries would stop trade between their colonised countries on the African continent. This would have to be a covert operation with no announcement to the western world whatsoever. It would start with unification of the continent and 1 central currency.

And that's why cogs are led to say "fukk Africa", without even understanding the dynamics at play.

Honestly I think it would be good for the world AND for Africa, because our over reliance on natural resources is screwing up the environment.

I definitely agree with human ingenuity and creativity making a come back.

As for Africa, you so right about the corruption is spot on. Leadership that isn’t susceptible to playing into Western interests is key.

Protection from assassination to put in puppet regimes is another issue. Many think African leadership is just naturally shytty without acknowledging the role of outside forces in the destabilization of these governments.

Other deals can be worked out, but ideally, the only justification needed for the removal of foreign powers from their lands is their birthright to their countries. Hell Americans themselves would ageee to withdraw our presence.

I think some sneaky underhanded shyt would definitely come with any of that tho EXACTLY like u said.

Yep. But the economic sanctions wouldn’t necessarily be that much of a hindrance if their own resources were redirected back to their own people.

Honestly my dad said they would release biowarfare to justify our “needed presence to manage the savages” before the West ever allowed something like this.:smh:
