can’t lie, the trailer threw me off. Couldve swore the trailer I saw had a random white as a love interest, thought they shoehorned some random agenda shyt into it. But someone told me that wasn’t the case, so decide to finally watch it.

shyt is FIRE. Viola definitely bounced back strong from that shyt she pulled with the Michelle Obama depiction.

The fighting was well done, I guess this movie is in the same vein as Troy, Gladiator, Braveheart…feel the fighting in this was better than those (from what I remember). Wish they used more of the rope.

The dialect/accent is dope/well done, but Lowkey might’ve been even better if they just used a original language.

Igozie (the one who mentored Naui) is fukking beatiful. :wow::whoo: Look like a cross between Lauryn Hill & Phylicia Rashad’s daughter.

The costume/clothing they used for the Agojie, the king and his harem was on point. Wanna see the research they put into that.

The visual and how they captured black skin was dope as well.

Like how they subtlety drop in Ifa, Ogou….while also looking at Christianity like wtf is this :lolbron:

From the trailer that I remembered, seemed like they was gon make the king weak af, but again that wasn’t the case.

Only shyt is, they couldn’t resist throwin that gay dude into the film huh

Didn't really care to see this movie at first. But went this weekend and it was great. Easily the best movie I've seen this year.

To me, this was more like a Glaidator/Troy type of movie. I thought at first it would be a "slave" movie, but really wasnt.

Going to take my son to see it this weekend... Hope this movie win a few awards.

Exactly. I understand why all the outrage, but the movies focus wasn't really about slavery at all. This was more of a "Braveheart for black women" focused movie
