It reminds me of DA:I in how the main quest KINDA seems there to string along the side quests and other material. Don't get me wrong. The main story of TW3 is MUCH more engaging, and the whole lore and universe is fleshed out better and more creatively in missions, obviously. But the main quest, due to the absolute sheer mass of the side quests and side content, it seems like it pales in comparison sometimes.
Act 2 main quests though were awesome though, IMO. Wait until you get to Skellige. The quests you do for the dude's kids out there are very very dope.
That quest for Hjalmar made me feel like a goddamn legend. That fight at the end and the whole build up to it throughout the whole quest was literally perfect IMO.
Ehhh. If you ask me, she's more of a main that Yenn. Yenn aint even been in the games before this. Sure, based on the mythology n books she's supposed to be with Geralt. But I started the series with TW2. All I knew then was Triss. And Yennifer has been a c*nt the entirety of The Witcher 3.
