Nah.
If we are going to put the real nikka cap on; let's do it.
What Will did was equivalent to a nikka walking out of the bathroom and seeing a nikka talking to his jawn. Storms over there with no words and bumps the nikka on some, "You good, breh? This is my chick."
See, the above can definitely be found on some insecure hood shyt. Matter of fact, it can be found culturally anywhere.
Meanwhile, I'd say that a real nikka would walk over to his jawn, nonchalantly and put his hand around her. Look at dude and say to his girl, "This a friend of yours?" Now, the other guy has an oppurtunity to fall back on some, "Oh my bad, breh, no disrespect. Shorty beautiful." Or, be on some, "Oh this is your man? HA, as I was saying."
Now, the breh can smack the other nikka.
Here? The Oscars situation?
A real man would have known enough about whether his wife was sensitive about her hair and matched her energy instead of laughing and then switching up. Even still, they were about 8 feet apart; they don't know telepathy. He could have stood up and walked over to her and ask her if she is bothered.
It appeared to me as if Will just made up his mind exactly how bad his wife was feeling and overcompensated.
Unless you are of the most unhinged dude, in the hood, you NEVER make a "protect your manhood" move unless you are absolutely sure there is no misunderstanding the situation and you are sure of the disrespect.
Here, he could not have known if Chris Rock knew about his wife's alopecia. fukk kind of entitled shyt is that? He couldn't be sure if Chris Rock was really trying to be disrespectful.
If he was a "real man", he'd have seen Chris after the show or in the back on some, "My nikka, explain something to me. fukk was that GI Jane shyt about? You know Jada is self conscious about it, right?"
Then, like the above situation, it's up to Chris to properly defuse or show how disrespectful he was by answering that question.
Either, "Oh, Will, my apologizes. It was a joke that I wouldn't have said if she didn't look beautiful with the cut."
Or, "nikka, fukk you and your bald headed bytch. These are jokes, nikka." - Which I'd have applauded a slap or punch at that time.
Nothing Will Smith did here is honorable. shyt is embarrassing.
