I'd like to address this since I've seen plenty of people saying it and it couldn't be further from the truth. If anything white folks gave us the idea that animal innards are bad. Our ancestors and most ethnic people accross the world consume animal innards because they are in some ways more nutritious than the more popular cuts of meat. Back when we all had to work hard to make a living (farming, hunting, etc) it was beneficial to eat the cuts of meat that contained more fat and calories and iron, protein, etc. it's once the white man made it to America and started siting in his ass the he came up with the idea that animal innards were not fit for consumption.

Another thing, I always see people on this site dissing soul food, as if blacks are unique in eating this way. Most cultures traditional foods are considered unhealthy today. For the same reasons as above, cooking with full fats , and hearty foods was beneficial to people back in the day. It holds true for almost all cultures, traditional Italian food is bad for you, same with French, Spanish, or any other culture you can speak of.

Since our lifestyles have changed, we should enjoy our traditional foods in moderation. But this idea that the white man is who made us eat this way couldn't be further from the truth.

Kind of lost track of this thread, but just wanted to point that the bolded just isn't true. Traditional Italian and French food areactually considered to be one of the reasons for why these countries have high life expectancies, with elderly people actually still fit quite old. (especially Italy and South of France). But this has nothing to do with the thread actually

Even with someone like being Nas being my favorite emcee of all time, I do wish he would tone it down with the use of the word. The same thing with people around my age on campus and even younger students.

I especially get annoyed when that random white guy in a black group who seems like the leader is using the word, and some random Indians use it.

I just think its way too overused and its getting out of hand now. I seriously lost track of how many times in NY im on the bus, and its like you cannot go every 3 stops without someone starting off a sentence with "MYYYYYY nikka".

Its so embarrassing sometimes and cringing.
