why cant i post a vid or a link?
KRS gives 9 elements of Hip Hop at Harvard - YouTube

and why do i need to participate on all 9 elements, i think your are confused about hip hop and the 9 elements

and if you think that 1/8 is not enough than you need to ask that question about people that participate in the corporate exploitation of hip hop about why they only participate in one element, if you even call exploitation participation which is already iffy

my hip hop credentials are untouchable, you on the other hand are obviously ignorant about what hip hop is
You cant post a vid because I asked you the question, not the honorable Blastmaster KRS1

Its like if you are in class and a teacher asks you a question... either you answer it or you don't... you dont scramble to find a Youtube video, play it and then take credit for what was said within it. Thats not how one demonstrates the mastery of material. And again, hip hop has 9 elements, but the root of it is the music, which you have repeatedly expressed disgust & disapproval of. How is that being "hip hop"? That is like claiming to embody basketball but hating the sport. What are you talking about?

And I don't have to ask anyone anything. I am talking to you, not "those people over there". Youre deflecting.

Like I asked twice already... how can you participate in hip hop, while not just not participating in hip hop, but continually speaking against hip hop culture and citing it as the root of the problems in the black community?

i dont even know what this means, you are not a teacher and im not a student, i gave you a lecture on the 9 elements straight from the source

the issue wasnt showing mastery of the material, you seemed to be ignorant about the 9 elements and hopefully now you have been enlightened

And again, hip hop has 9 elements, but the root of it is the music, which you have repeatedly expressed disgust & disapproval of. How is that being "hip hop"? That is like claiming to embody basketball but hating the sport. What are you talking about?

and again you have a fundamental misunderstanding of what hip hop is, hip hop is a culture and the roots of hip hop are african american and caribbean culture, it has 9 elements one of which is rap music, did you even listen to the lecture?

how can the root of a culture be a specific aspect of a culture? that's like saying sushi and anime are the roots of japanese culture, the roots of a culture are other cultures, geography and demographics and the roots of hip hop are african american and caribbean culture and american ghettos

And I don't have to ask anyone anything. I am talking to you, not "those people over there". Youre deflecting.

im not deflecting anything, im answering all your questions directly, if you dont like the answers thats on you

but speaking of deflecting, if you are so bewildered and distraught that i only participate in 1/9 of the elements, how is it that you are not distraught and bewildered by people that call themselves in hip hop and only participate in the corporate exploitation of one element of hip hop?

Like I asked twice already... how can you participate in hip hop, while not just not participating in hip hop,

and i have answered you twice and now 3 times

what i said is that i am hip hop, in the same sense that somebody says i am japanese, does a person born in japan stop being japanese if they dont like sushi?

i dont think you grasp the depths of the concept of I AM HIP HOP, do you need me to post another youtube video for your edification?

but continually speaking against hip hop culture and citing it as the root of the problems in the black community?

i have never spoken against hip hop culture, i would be speaking against myself, what i have done is :pacspit: on the corporate exploitation of one of the elements of hip hop and i have asserted the root of the problems in the black community are due to people ignoring the knowledge element of hip hop

To whom it may concern

“Hiphop is a term that describes our independent collective consciousness. Ever growing, it is commonly expressed through such elements as Breakin, Emceein, Graffiti Art, Deejayin, Beatboxin, Street Fashion, Street Language, Street Knowledge and Street Entrepreneurialism.

You cant be hip hop w/o participating in it

You dont listen to the music... youve spoken out against it on numerous occasions
You dont break dance/ DJ/ graf write/ beat box
You dont rock or have any insight into street fashion
You claim street language is the sole reason black people have bad self images and cant progress
And you want to replace street knowledge/entrepreneurialism with corporate white washing

So please explain to me how you are hip hop? You are either clueless about or vehemently against everything hip hop is and stands for

You are like Reincar... one of those Caribbeans w/an anti-black American inferiority complex, but w/the hypocritical twist of trying to spin that into a pro black message

whats funny is that you are accusing me of avoiding your questions, i just answered your questions and then you act like i didnt just answer

for the fifth time, hip hop is something you are, rapping, dancing etc is something you do, you need to go ahead and listen to the KRS lectures i posted to enlighten yourself

these are basic hip hop concepts that seem to go over your head, all you are doing is exposing yourself as ignorant about hip hop, participating in the corporate exploitation of one element of hip hop does not make you hip hop

You claim street language is the sole reason black people have bad self images and cant progress

dont put words in my mouth
And you want to replace street knowledge/entrepreneurialism with corporate white washing

if you call intellectual development of the hip hop nation white washing, yes i am white washing

So please explain to me how you are hip hop? You are either clueless about or vehemently against everything hip hop is and stands for
i already explained how, what part of my explanation dont you understand or disagree with

i am hip hop, period

you apparently participate in the corporate exploitation of one of the elements

you are not in a position to tell me anything about hip hop

You are like Reincar... one of those Caribbeans w/an anti-black American inferiority complex, but w/the hypocritical twist of trying to spin that into a pro black message[

lol...twism be contradicting himself so much. I notice that whenever someone levels a generalized criticism at black people that he disagrees with, his stance is "You shouldn't be telling black people how they should act or what they should believe. Black people are free to think and feel however they want."

Then when he levels a generalized criticism that black people, his stance is "They are not acting in the interest of black people and deserve to be condemned and shunned."

Someone criticizes a black person for a political opinion or stance, calls them a "c00n" or a "uncle tom," or takes issue with in a black person advancing imperialism, hegemony, or economic policies that hurt black America (in their opinion), you always say something about how black people are free to have whatever opinion they want.

Then when someone doesn't take whatever position you take, such as abolishing usage of the word "nikka," having a neoliberal political ideology, or dikkriding that clown Tim Scott, you diss them, and imply that they're working against the interests of black people.

i still dont get it, thats simply me taking stances on different issues, and arguing it differently, but thats not a contradiction

if a say somebody is working against the interests of black people when i agree with them and then say they are NOT working in the interests of black people when i disagree with them, how is that a contradiction?

it would be a contradiction if i said that people are free to take whatever position they want when its something i support and then say people are NOT free to take a position when its something i disagree with

ive never said people dont have the right to say nikka, i said the mainstreaming of the word is not in black people's interest

People are free to take whatever position they want as long as you agree with it

Otherwise you spend the whole thread discrediting people and telling them how wrong they are

IOW people are not free to take whatever position they want

people are free to take whatever position they want, then you step into the ring to defend your position, if your arguments are destroyed by my superior knowledge and intellect thats your problem, it doesnt mean your intellectual freedom has been violated

You have yet to present any idea or argument of any value here
