There is nothing suspicious about a government attempting to stymy parts of an investigation into a fukk up, even a fukk up on a scale exponentially smaller than 9/11.

Jobs, reputations, political capital, legacies, and future aspirations are on the line, and when you open that pandora's box all types of things come out that may not even be related to the scandal in question directly. So any time there is a investigation into ANYTHING the government did or failed to do, there will be enormous push-back from the government. That doesn't mean there's some nefarious conspiracy under the surface.

You are labeling the stonewall around the 9/11 Commission "suspicious" and talking about how it raises "red flags." If you applied reading comprehension, you would've seen I was saying you're making an illogical leap from the government tries to coverup parts of an investigation --------> CONSPIRACY! when there's a lot simpler, more logical explanation for it. Occam's razor.

you're assuming that's all it is.

im assuming there could be more to the story, especially considering the bush administration was infamous for corruption, greed, and deceit.

and "the government covering up parts of an investigation" fits within the definition of conspiracy. so even by dictionary definitions my position is justified.

con·spir·a·cy
kənˈspirəsē/
noun
  1. 1.
a secret plan by a group to do something unlawful or harmful.

You don't take a position on anything. You just make up a generalized premise, such as "the government is evil and were somehow complicit in 9/11." Then type paragraphs about everyone who doesn't reflect your paranoia is brainwashed by government propaganda. You offer no facts, no specifics, no well-reasoned arguments...nothing

i dont take concrete positions on things im unsure about.

unlike the psuedo-skeptic coalition who take concrete positions based on the "integrity" of the US government, if there is such a thing.

:what: That's not established fact that the government knew about the attacks beforehand. What are you talking about? Proof?

It is true that the intelligence community was getting increased data that an Al Qaeda attack was on the horizon in the preceding months. I already gave my take on this earlier in the thread when responding to TUH. I can't even rule out the notion that they knew an attack was imminent and purposely ignored it, though I highly doubt that. But it certainly isn't established fact... just conjecture on your part.

they may not have known exact details in terms of days, times, flight numbers, etc., but they certainly knew attacks could be imminent and had more than enough time and info to prevent the attacks.

It's not applicable to either.

that's an opinion.

Lol..."fell like controlled demolitions" as opposed to what? Lol@skyscrapers "falling naturally." Where they do that at?

:snoop:

EVER seen? :comeon: The Bush administration was more evil than say Andrew Jackson and his Indian removal policy? Are you forgetting that we had slavery for the first 90 years of this country's existence as an independent nation?

evil is evil.

go see for yourself what bush administration did to the people of iraq. you tryna judge the consequences of bush's policy from your recliner foh

I don't believe everything the government is telling me regarding 9/1. I just don't believe it was a government conspiracy.

You're proving the flaw in your logic, I highlighted by posting the Chomsky video. He doesn't believe 9/11 was a conspiracy either and scoffs at the notion. Are you going to say Chomsky believes everything the government is telling him? His whole political career is based around exposing lies and propaganda from government. That's why a man like that shytting on your conspiracies puts you between a rock and a hard place. Have you considered that this has nothing to do with trusting government and you conspiracy dudes are just goofy, illogical, and wrong?

[

first off you're putting a lot of words in chomsky's mouth, so to speak. he gave reasons why he doesnt think the bush administration helped orchestrate the 9/11 attacks, but ive never asserted the US government helped orchestrate the 9/11 attacks. im more in the camp of they allowed it to happen in order to capitalize on the aftermath--an opinion ive stated several times. almost everything else im reserving my opinion on until i get more information.

To be honest, I'm not sure why truthers are given the time of day. They should just be labeled by the rest of society as intellectually inferior and disregarded.

They're only given the time of day because experts ignore them. And at this point, I think all intellectuals need to revisit this technique because it's not going to work anymore. Ignoring conspiracy theorist only strengthens there message. As @Dafunkdoc_Unlimited has proven over and over in this thread, the information is out there. However, conspiracy theorist will only confront the information when its thrown in there face over the course of a debate.

The reason conspiracist were able to gain so much traction after 9/11, was because of the science behind the buildings falling. Everyone questioned the math, nobody credible wanted to set the record straight in a national way.

We would be able to get on with our lives if, I'm a bit afraid to say it, we had more credible academics willing to directly call out conspiracist ala Paul Krugman and austrian economics. Instead of attacking an idea like "9/11" was a hoax, attack a specific assertion or specific detail.

i disagree. the thing with conspiracy theorists is that there's always an out...no matter what you present to them, they'll do all kinds of mental gymnastics to prove it's always a conspiracy. that's the beauty of it. they'll toss around some stock phrases like "critical thinking" or "do your own research" and shyt.

they'll automatically trust and quote joe bob from arkansas blog about something like the boston bombing over anything the msm reports. they'll vaguely explain away anything you put in their face but they're not outright denying anything....they're "just questioning" stuff...while constantly refreshing the infowars site...and then they'll turn around and call you an idiot for blindly being a "sheep".

shyt is pure comedy.

And that, sir, is the bottom-line.

:salute:

They have nowhere to run since they're in a corner now.

All they can do is rely on re-hashed bullshyt and fallacious arguments that are easily destroyed with evidence that they do not possess.

walk with me for a sec good people...

grouping all conspiracy theories together under one umbrella may be convenient, but it's not accurate.

one discussion is, to what degree did the government have prior knowledge of the 9/11 attacks? another discussion is, were members of the US government possibly involved in aiding the attackers? another discussion is, the controlled demolition of one, or possibly all three of the buildings. the legitimacy of foreign policy decisions after 9/11 is yet another discussion. insurance fraud, the pentagon scenario, legislation that violates our human rights etc., are all discussions on different aspects of 9/11. but to lump them all together is an knee-jerk reaction that is unproductive because some of these discussions have merit.

but let's strip all the other stuff away for a second and just deal with this one aspect of our government totally mismanaging events before, during, and after 9/11.

In some people's opinion this was 100% incompetence and there was no planning or intended maliciousness on the part of any member of our government. but for me there is nothing in our government's history that suggests malicious intent is an impossibility, so there is absolutely no reason for me to rule it out, other than the WORD of the US government, which coincidently isn't good for shyt.

in fact, based on this country's history i'd say government maliciousness is a high probability. the best predictor of current behavior is past behavior, so judging from the past actions of our government it's likely there was some combination of incompetence AND intentionally malicious behavior in regards to 9/11.

in addition, even if our government didnt conspire to carry out 9/11, they certainly conspired to capitalize on it.
which is just as disgraceful.

some elected officials in our government are straight gullible idiots, true. but not all of them. skull and bones bush, bush sr (who was not only a former president but also a former director of the CIA), shotgun dikk cheney, henry "kiss of death" kissinger, and the rest of the boys are meticulous in their planning. they're very organized and intentional in their behavior. they've already been caught several times deceiving the public AND deceiving members of government for their own private agendas. so why are we acting like this is anything new?

in addition, i just want to point out how sad our current social and political conditions are when our choice is between whether our government is extremely incompetent or extremely corrupt? that in itself is terrible :snoop:

ultimately tho, it's already been demonstrated the US government's actions during the 9/11 commission proceedings fits the criteria for a conspiracy. the 9/11 commission almost brought several major government agencies up on criminal charges for withholding information and outright accused them of lying. THAT IS THE DEFINITION OF CONSPIRACY.

also this is more than just withholding information from the public, it's about withholding information from the 9/11 commission itself, which is the official government body that was federally mandated to investigate the events surrounding 9/11.

i can understand not disclosing everything to the public, but not cooperating with the 9/11 commission investigation is unacceptable. if people fukked up, and people were incompetent and weren't doing their jobs then those individuals need to be held accountable.

we have to ask, what was the real intention behind withholding the information? are they only protecting national security interests, or are they protecting the people who fukked up? protecting national security issues is valid, protecting people who fukked up is criminal negligence simply due to the magnitude of the effects of 9/11.

i know this post will go over some people's heads, two idiots in particular. but i encourage everyone else to really think about what im saying.

an incompetent government and a corrupt government are not our only choices, we can have better than this. and we have a civic responsibility to strive for better than this.

You need to strive to stop lying on message boards.

No one gives a flying fukk about your giant walls of text because you say nothing.

Shut the fukk up.

You are the worst poster on this site.
