I’ve argued with you about UFOs in the past. I’ve seen your responses in this thread. Your aim certainly does not appear to be to one that seeks the truth on UFOs, but rather one that wants to shyt on anything UFO related.

That's an ad hominem. If you have a specific example where I said something inaccurate or "shytted on" something unfairly, them give it. Otherwise you're just poisoning the well.

Do you believe any of my insights have been accurate? Any at all?

Yes, but this isn’t the point of the thread. I’ve already heard these insights, and I’m assuming others have too. Like I said I just want to talk about UFOs with people without having to constantly argue with skeptics. I know it’s all speculation and secondhand evidence. Sometimes it’s fun to discuss that “what ifs.” There is no hard, smoking gun, evidence on UFOs. You can watch 1000s of videos and listen to all the experiencers and then make up your mind if you want to believe in UFOs or not. I believe. That is the hurdle I mentioned before. I want to talk to others past that hurdle too. Isn’t that reasonable? Skeptics would rather just argue.

Very interesting video that goes over some recent scientific papers regarding the phenomenon

As a side bit he seems to be a bit skeptical of alien hypothesis as well. A lot of the accounts and encounters are completely irrational. Why would aliens travel over vast distances just to deliberately confuse us. I personally think the phenomenon may be basis of a lot of folklore throughout human history which makes it a lot weirder. As I mentioned before it may be something that is outside our paradigm of reality.

You can believe in UFOs without being gullible to every breaking story or con artist trying to pull one over. If you do believe in UFOs, and do want to understand them better, then why not welcome solid debunking of the made-up parts so you can focus on the aspects that are actually true?

Low key one of my closest friends since childhood is a huge conspiracy theorist. He has a tendency to believe in crazy conspiracies but also conspiracies that have real substance, like who and what influences world events behind the scenes. He likes going over shyt with me cause it grounds him and helps him focus on the parts that matter. I'm the main reason he was able to pull himself out of the QANON wormhole before it took over his life.

But outside of him and a couple other childhood friends, most of my friends aren't really into that shyt. I'm not sure why you think everyone believes in that sort of stuff.

as it stands right now, critical thinking is a personality trait, not a skill. you cant expect a concrete thinker to be comfortable with giving up on beliefs that give them a good feeling just because you have counter arguments and evidence. that old quote "you cant reason a man out of a position he did not reason himself into" applies. when that cognitive dissonance gets painful, they will lash out.

this thread actually belongs in TLR since they dont really want a certain level of skepticism applied to the things being posted in here.

You call it critical thinking but it's more like arrogant autism :manny:

:mjlol: Negro, please. Y'all are in here crying because mans is questioning your underlying assumptions, and it makes you all look feminine.

Here's some advise from a self development perspective: stop crying, and form better arguments. People who disagree with you and are also knowledgeable serve to sharpen your argument as well as your mind.

You're attempting to take the easy way out by attacking him instead of his arguments, and it will end up stunting your growth more than it hurts him.

I called you out for lying in a thread and all of the sudden you're obsessed with me.

And what's with using "autism" as an insult in Higher Learning? There are plenty of autistic people who are much more pleasant to converse with than you are.

What happened to the @Andrew Straight that posted this?

This post is why you're the GOAT of HL

To be honest, I'm too jaded and glib nowadays to break it down like you do on here

So for my first 7 years I was the HL GOAT, but now I'm "insufferable" and "arrogant autistic" just because I called you out a couple times?

It's even worse that that. @Andrew Straight didn't have a single post in this thread until today. He's just a former fanboy of mine who flipped out and started stalking me around the board cause I made him look bad.

But what turns someone from a skeptic into a believer if not analysis and debate?

I'm assuming you didn't just watch E.T. or Independence Day one day and just say, "fukk it. UFOs are real. :manny:"

There are degrees of belief to every unproven concept. You call yourself a UFO believer, yet I'm sure there are believers who would look at your statement of "there is no hard, smoking gun, evidence on UFOs" and think you're one of the blind sheep.
