In Kobe's career, the closest he ever came to being considered the definitive best player in the game was the 2007-2008 season when he won MVP. Before that, it was Jordan, Shaq, Garnett, Duncan, Wade (for a minute), and Lebron. Even Durant has got more "best player in the world" mentions than Kobe. That doesn't mean Kobe isn't a great player, but it does mean putting him in the top 5 all time is . He's on the same level as Dirk Nowitzki, who is a top 20 all time.

Lebron is the better player and is more talented than kobe.

I can say this as a fan of both players. A lot SoCal dudes are bias about kobe and are not being objective.

Kobe has no doubt had the better career but it does not make him a better bball player.

Only thing he has on bron at any given point in his career is jump shooting, even that is debatable considering kobe's fg% his entire career. Free throws goes to kobe. 3pt% is a wash and most likely lebron will end up with a higher 3pt%.

Kobe is def in the top 10, with a chance for top 5 with one more ring. Kobe is not ahead of magic at this point.

Lebron has a higher career scoring average breh. He is also a more efficient scorer, those are not debatable. Kobe is a volume shooter. He jacks up a lot of shots and misses a lot of them as well.

Any rational fan already knows the original point is correct.

Trying to debate with the irrational ones is pointless. However, even they have stopped claiming Kobe > MJ for the most part.

In the end, you have somebody with a very long, productive career punctuated with moments of jaw-dropping stupidity. His 2004 finals performance alone takes him out of top 5 discussions.

Mentioning Tyson Chandler is a horrible example based on amount of shots. LeBron scores just as much as Kobe in far less shots. So it's not just about percentages.

GTFOH with all that "sidekick", winning titles as the man bullshyt. How come we don't hear that BS logic with anyone else, but with Kobe we always hear it. Magic only won 3 FMVP to his 5 titles, yet no one says he was carried? Kareem only won 2 FMVP, to his 6 titles, yet no one said he's carried? Duncan nor Shaq won the FMVP to their 4 titles, yet no one says THEY were carried? Bird won FMVP 2 times and he has 3 titles, yet no one said he's carried. But with Kobe, is all this "sidekick, as the man" bullshyt. MAN GTFOH. Kobe was putting up almost same numbers as shaq during playoffs. He even scored more at times. NO one (Not even MJ) would've won FMVP over Shaq. He's the most dominant player EVER, why the fukk does Kobe not getting credit? yall act like dude was fisher out there.

You say Kobe's never won without a HOF big man. But how come no one mention Shaq needed an ELITE WING (Kobe, Wade) to win? Has he won shyt without an elite wing?
