he didnt. They really didn't show what he did. it sorta just... happened

The Black March thing didn't happen either

But this, like the fights, are better IMO

kinda feel like SIU hit us with the "If I could do it again, I'd do it this way"

that shyt with Khun and the falling knives :whew:

It feels like ToG anime and ToG manga is like FMA: OG and FMA: Brotherhood.

I legit enjoy watching reaction highlights on these episodes. It's like reliving my shock at some of the revelations and events. Even with some of the nuances not getting in there, I think the series has done a great job capturing the themes and essence of the webtoon. Anime heads are having similar reactions and feelings to how I remember feeling first reading through the tests.

My one big-ish complaint is that I don't think they gave the shock of Baam learning Quant's reverse-flow instantly the type of hype it deserved. Quant made a passing remark but I just think the "wow" factor was a bit muted there because in the webtoon he talked about how impossible it would be before Baam accomplished it. In the episode, his first real "how'd he pull that off" comes as a reaction instead.

Uppin' for the last three episodes, the final test has begun and they've got some time to really make this live up to the webtoon.

This anime is weird as hell. I really have no clue what's going on in their world. I dig the mystery though and really enjoy it. Tempted to read the manga but I don't like picking up a book unless it's finished

I feel you fam. The manga is mysterious as hell in it's own right and they've condensed about 80 chapters into a 13 episode span. A lot of the questions or confusion that I've seen from anime watchers is around information or scenes that seem like they got cut for time; stuff that the manga pretty blatantly spelled but the anime didn't get to cover. I still think they've nailed the tone and key moments though and I'm enjoying the hell out of the show though.

Eps 9 and 11 were dope, 9 was like a damn movie :whew: best episode of anime I've watched in a while

They are doing a pretty meh job at explaining things tho, takes the oomph out of a LOT of stuff imo.

Feels like they're tryna pull an Attack on Titan and skip over mad stuff so the anime just ends up being a highlight reel with SOME context but not enough, especially for a show so big on world building

Once they cover Rachel's epilogue next week, that'll be the end of Season 1. The hand glowing thing they added to this doesn't seem necessary. In fact, that the manga plays out a bit differently. But the ending is the same. The :mjcry: is the same.

I haven't touched anime since I completed LOGH 2 years ago, but does this animation style feel cheap?
