Honestly though, if Steve Jobs wasn't adopted by the right set of parents, he might have become a serial killer. I'm not joking either. That dude was batshyt crazy at times.

Because every 5 star chef has to start somewhere. They gotta cook. They gotta go through The Machine.

because it's a high stress job that wrecks lives and ruins marriages. It makes you not give a shyt at all about the human condition, only the art. it's an obsession. you marry that shyt.

It will break you. Cooking for a living is a job for straight masochists. And they flock to it.

And the shyt is like drug addiction and herpes. You come out of that shyt with PTSD. You will never put it down. You will never look at your cooking, their cooking or even drive through's ideal 2:15 wait time the same way again.

I think you make a selection of unjustified logical leaps here starting with a perfectionist attitude = psychopathy. Virtually every high achieving and well paid profession is run by perfectionists and takes up a lot of free time. I don't see how chef work is any different. I'm surprised I don't see "banker" up there.
