So this all started because Asian kids couldn't get into elite schools? So they falsely blame black people for 'taking their spot' at these schools? That's ridiculous.

Black people make up a miniscule percentage at these schools as it is. My guess is that these Asian kids aren't getting in because they're boring. No personality, no story, no social life, no after-school activities/hobbies, no clubs, etc. It would make sense for these Ivy league schools to instead invest in more well-rounded people.

Its frustratingly obtuse, and short sighted. Seeing that there's a limited amount of spots that go to non-white students, instead of demanding more spots to even things up for everyone, these folks decided to just try to take spots from other people fighting for the same limited space.

fukking shameful and disgusting.

I understand what affirmative action is on a surface level but don't totally understand how this will change institutions who want to do the right thing
So private companies like Google, Amazon etc can still have Diversity recruiting pipelines there is just no pressure on them to do so
And private universities like Harvard can still carve out space for black students under the guise of admitting "balanced candidates" by evaluating an array of factors in the application

Whether or not institutions continue to do that is another thing but theoretically "affirmative action" can still continue without the federal mandate (?)

yeah, most universities lean left anyway, so you make a good point

Breh most D1 athletes think they are going pro, it's delusional thinking but that's what it is and as long as they are supplied with PAWGs, they are happy.
At some of these PWI colleges there are more Black people working as janitors and cafeteria then on the student bodies themselves. And some colleges where the only black students are athletes.

I went to two such schools and the environment was terrible...Black students that don't play sports are already treated as invisible....this will completely drain colleges of Black students and black admissions in the future. These colleges and universities finna be almost all 100% white in the future.

But like @OperationNumbNutts said...the solution is simple...support HBCUs :salute: ✊🏿

We all we got. Always have been and always will be. The sooner we act like it the better off we'll be.

America is getting more Asian and Latino by the day, people need to wake up. Foreigners have no concept of needing to support black people with government programs because they have zero racial history in America and in fact most of them hate black people in general.

Need to wake up and smell the coffee, economic development and collaboration needs to increase ten fold.

They are gonna save the Student Loan decision until like 5pm tomorrow to reduce the likelihood of protesting while they are in their offices. They will be halfway to their yachts for July 4th holiday as the decision is announced by their clerks

It's crazy how they most likely made their decision in February but they're going to force you to wait for it as long as possible. That way, when it hits and they strike the plan down, you feel it more than if they had announced it weeks ago.

They really decided to turn a simple no into a main event for the world title on PPV. :francis:

True, but regardless if the university leans left, it all depends on what the legal definition of this ends up being. Keep in mind, the SC ruling is basically just a general ruling that Affirmative Action is unconstitutional, and state law gets to define the letter of the law, so to speak. Just as we saw with Roe v Wade, the next wave is state laws being written that include far more specific wording.

Ultimately, this will not just be "You can't check the box that says you're black, but then mention it in your essay." There inevitably will be a state dumb enough to not only draft up a law that removes that workaround, but also pass it.

I'm guessing you are a lawyer, how will this impact minority contracting and employment?

Or is that a separate issue?
