i love hiphop but im not qualified to speak on it culturally. i just love the music

i know its a very competitive genre, but it leaves a bad taste in my mouth when people obsess over sales/popularity when the quality of the music is whats important. some of my favorite hiphop albums went wood or got ignored damn near completely. i hate on a lot of rappers on here (especially fat joe) but i would never criticize an artist over their sales figures. when did hiphop fans turn into accountants?

but everything in this sick ass world revolves around money. it would be nice if artists just tried to put out the best music they could, and worried about the sales later, but its always the other way around...

yeah i believe PE were working closely with Paris around that time. i'd have to dig them out but im pretty sure he appears on Revolverlution and Rebirth of a Nation. i think that was some of the first new material Paris had put out since he "retired" to play the stock market.
