And yeah, other crews respected Ralphie for the family business. Tony's crew didnt but the fact is Sil reprimanded Tony for hitting Coked out Ralphie because of what he does. Johnny Sack spoke up on Ralphies behalf when him and Tony were beefing. Carmine, the New York Boss, told Johnny to fall back when HE wanted to kill Ralphie. Im not saying nikkas liked him, but EVERYONE respected his hustle. Tony just hated him and his crew by extension.
Again, Coked out Ralphie did some fukked up shyt but that doesnt make him hypocrite or a mental midget like Tony was breh.
Chris, Tony, Adriana are all classic dysfunctional/toxic relationships....They all should have severed ties long before they did, but they were caught up. Tony is such a person, he is so short on empathy and narcisstic, he can't ever really love Chris the way Chris wanted him to. And Chris couldn't do the same for Aidriana.
To blame one or the other for their fates is missing the point. I thought it was dope the way Tony killed Chris, it showed how truly depraved he was, how selfish and angry. The reality of being a killer, that was just a reflex for him, he barely thought about it.
One of my favorite scenes that underscores their relationship is the end of Season 6B episode 2, I think, where they are at his child's christening, and you can tell they both know, all the love, fake or real, is all gone in paranoia, jealousy, pettiness, resentment.

he even tells the L&O writer this when shows up at his crib and the writer lays them harsh realities on him "Chris, you're in the mafia". Chris was untrustworthy & a fukk up from start (fukking up the collection which lead to the chase scene in the pilot) all the way to his death.

No he wasn't. He never turned on Tony and was asked to multiple times. By that guy he ran with in season 1, Adriana, Richy and his heroine mistress. Fukk up yes, mainly due to his addiction but he was never disloyal to his crew.
