No Whammies!!
Solid, good show.

WB is rubbish but one thing they know how to do well is the fantasy genre. Netflix was smart to let them handle this.

I haven't read up on the licensing/rights issues, but not that you mention it it does seem weird that a show with references to DC Comics characters would show up on Netflix, rather than DC Comics.

Wasn't the implication of this scene supposed to mean that the escaped nightmare character was actually responsible for inspiring a bunch of DC Comics characters while Dream was imprisoned?

Netflix about to pull another one :francis:

Knew something was wrong when they didn't immediately renew it

Netflix didn't have anything to do with the show creatively, it was all WBTV

*shrug* I'm not familiar with the source material at all, and went into this blind. Good catch tho.

Yeah, I know. I said fantasy is one of the few things WB actually does well.

Confused on how shows made by WB need WB to submit the highest bid to stream it. :dwillhuh:
From what I understand Neil Gaiman has a lot of control over his IP. I don't think WB was able to move forward without his agreement. Bidding war was probably negotiating for his approval.

I wonder if them dropping a bonus episode is a strategy to keep people engaged and talking about the show.
if it is, they did a terrible job because i had no idea it was out until i was looking on a piracy site that showed a new episode, but didn't even see it on netflix

:dead:

anyway shout out to #catset

Depends on contract language.

For example, with the Netflix Marvel shows, it was stipulated that Marvel couldn't use the characters for two years after the shows were all cancelled.

If they did something similar, then it's gonna be tough to get more episodes, since at that point, they'll essentially need to rehire everyone involved, as if they were starting from scratch.
