What is Trumps role in all this since he's low key buddy buddy with Putin?

A theory could be that Putin baits Biden into military action which wouldn't be popular, Trump runs in 2024 on withdrawing any troops Biden sends and "restoring peace" (among other things) and Trump wins the Presidency.

It would be the Donald the Dove thing from 2016 all over again.

Because ultimately that wasn't going to stop Putin and only hurts the optics/PR with Russian sympathizers. They nixed the gas pipeline from Russia as a warning shot, but Putin painted himself into a corner with all the chest thumping he's done. An upfront slap of full sanctions could be perceived as an escalation by the US, but Putin has gotten outmaneuvered here severely. Russia looks like dikkheads to the entire world paying any attention because they are behaving like dikkheads. They pulled the 1940s playbook out in 2022 and thought the US & NATO would backdown when they heard the book hit the table. But they didn't.

That's actually what makes me most nervous about all this...it's clear Russia doesn't have actually have a plan now. It's all reaction. And their head honcho Putin is on some heavy macho shyt, potentially has a terminal illness, and is emotional.

This post is riddled with opinions...
1. Too early to say Putin has been outmaneuvered
2. US and Nato is no the "Entire World"...Some see Nato's advancement as long term aggression same as Russia does
3. Nato and US have backed down by categorically saying they aint sending troops after grandstanding the past month as if they would stand with Ukraine

The Afghanistan withdrawal kind hurts that propaganda and the fact Zelensky being an upstanding looking white dude vs brown dudes in headscarves.

Going to war in Europe is always going to hold a different outlook.

If Putin kills Zelensky it’s over for him and Trump.
