I might cop this shyt. Looks good and Robin Walkers has been a credible scholar. Hope I find some good treasures in this so I can post it in my Sahel thread.

For some reason its hard for me to finish non-fiction books but hopefully I have the time and dedication to finish this. Again looks and sounds good. Hope there is more Timbuktu/West Africa than Ancient Egypt.

This shyt JUST came!!!

Lets see if it was worth it. Hoping to read some interesting and new things based off the book info.

Great book. It touches on multiple maroon groups, the biggest being in the Great Dismal Swamp, a lot of others I never heard of, as well as some maroons who were basically outlaws on some real life Django kind of stuff.
:wow:

Almost forgot I finished this too

Really good book that basically puts to rest a lot of myths about how the crips actually got started.

Currently gotta finish reading these

Okay finished book(wasn't that long) in the beginning I was feeling some type of way about the book. Because in the beginning it seemed like author was making some BOLD pseudo-like claims with NO reference(Black Egyptians creating Arabic script??? Tho he did say Ivan Van Seritma made that theory). However, once you get to chapter two thats when the book really takes off! I read some stuff that I never knew and I an a big African history buff. Stuff like West Africans basically having a vaccine for smallpox BEFORE Europeans or the people of Timbuktu having a formula to make tooth paste OR the Dogon already being aware of the Big Bang theory among many other things. This book really shows how advanced Africans outside of the Egyptians were when it came to Science and Mathematics and how their contribution is neglected.

Also I am now CERTAIN that there is a 65% chance Malians visited the Americas before Columbus. We just don't have the very juicy evidence yet but this book shows(and with sources) that there is at least an argument for this theory. I'm glad it didn't bother with the dated/debunked Nile Valley vs Olmec theory.

Anyways I give this book a 4.0/5. It was very good but the last bit felt rushed because I wanted to see more on the East African ship sailing. But other than that good book.

Will be posting juicy stuff from this book in my Lets Talk African History threads in the future.
