Does anyone here buy books in a bookstore? If so, how many black people do you see on the regular in these places?
I rarely see other black people buying books out here...

I'm mixed living in Europe :yeshrug: I buy all my books in bookstores, book fairs, etc...and yeah I regularly see black people, not that many, but still.

Yeah it could be, there's this law in France that regulates the prices of books published in France, it's the same price wherever you go, only difference is how much choice you have...

Either/Or by Soren Kierkegaard. It is a pretty dense bok, but I am coming off a high reading his "Sickeness Unto Death", and so far, so good. He uses pseudonyms to describe various aspects of life; in regards to what I am reading, the aesthetic aspects of life. For instance Don Juan continuously sleeping with a woman finds it to be a repetitive act, and thus boring. It doesn't achieve 'true' aesthetic pleasure, so he goes from woman to woman. The contradiction in his reasoning is rather apparent. This all unfolds in his description of Mozart's Don Giovanni. Like I said, so far, so good. I hope to finish both parts before Christmas.

Does anyone no about any African Philosophy books? For example I have read some books on things like stoicsm which was written by Europeans hundreds of years ago. Is there a African equivalent?
Theophile Obenga, Frantz Fanon, W.E.B Dubois ( I find that alot of people know his main works but haven't read anything else outside of them), Anthony Appiah, Steve Biko, Alain Locke, Kwame Nkrumah, Patricia Hill Collins, Amilcar Cabral, and V.Y.Mudimbe. There's alot more you can dig into, but just reading some of these people will give you alot of insight.

I got a couple bookstores in my City that happen to be Black owned bookstores so I see black folk all the time. And there's a black comic book shop that isn't far from me either.

Do these bookstores have websites? Especially the black comic book shop, I'd like to start reading some black comics
