Just finished reading Letters to a young poet (Rainer Maria Rilke), Chanson Douce (LeΓ―la Slimani, winner of the Goncourt award in France, highest litterary award I think) and currently reading (finally) Between the world and me by Ta-Nehisi Coates

Do these bookstores have websites? Especially the black comic book shop, I'd like to start reading some black comics

Unfortunately the Comic book shop doesn't have a Website yet, but they have a facebook. You can contact the owner here Amalgam Comics & Coffeehouse, Inc. | Facebook

This the site for the local bookstore http://blackandnobel.com/ And another good site is http://www.sankofa.com/

The breh @2Quik4UHoes runs that store and he could hook you up in case the brehs at Black and Nobel can't but I'm sure they can.

Locke was an enlightenment era philosopher, so if you want to get an insight on how they thought government should have been run, Two Treatises of Government and A Letter Concerning Toleration is a good way to go. If political theory interests you, I recommend reading through Plato's The Republic. I wrote my thesis using a lot of themes from it and Plato has some interesting views. If anyone is trying to hold a discussion on democracy then vs democracy now I'm up for it.
I haven't read Plato in years. There's a thread in HL where they're discussing Rousseau, Locke, and others. You should check it out.

I peeped it when it was made but didn't respond because the picture was too small on my phone. I'll get back to it when I get to my laptop.

I tend to read a bunch of books simultaneously. I mostly read non-fiction, history books, books about culture, philosophy etc.. I'm currently reading:

Sherwin Nuland "How We Die"

Atul Gawande "Being Mortal: Medicine And What Matters In The End"

Marcus Aurelius' "Thoughts"

Richard J Evans "The coming of the Third Reich"

Bertrand Russell "A history of Western philosophy"
