Good shyt, I got love for Black and Nobel we selling their Raw Sea Moss at Sankofa. Hakim and em be holdin it down in North Philly.
Philly got a few Black owned bookstores actually, hopefully Hakim's Bookstore ain't close down I heard they were in trouble some months back. If you in Philly, try to find Hakim's and throw them some business. Gotta keep these spaces open and alive.
Just to add, I'm currently reading:<--fiya!
And I'm going to follow up with:
I was lucky enough to find it on Amazon for about $50 or so dollars. At one point last week it was $25 (not the study guide...the actual book) but then Tariq Nasheed plugged it and the price went up to $80+ so I tried the authors direct website but the payal link wasn't working.
So as I was just searching amazon for the cheapest one and I saw a new copy for $50. You may have to let things cool off and hopefully the price goes down a little.
Just bought this book a week ago, didn't even know about this thread.
I finished reading this a couple of weeks ago, (excellent read btw..would highly recommend) a statistic I read in there really caught my eye, stating that on average people in this country are reading just 2 books per year. With books being a great source of acquiring wisdom, new ideas, and the outlet to get lost in a good story I'm making it a goal to read more and figured we could have a thread here to share anything we've recently read, what we've got on deck, and make any recommendations.
I was also interested in something on the entire history of Africa as a continent, stumbled upon this at Barnes & Nobles. Thicker than the bible but this is next up for me
Even if you dont have any books you're reading currently come in and talk about some of the subjects you are interested in so folks can give you ideas
