The Rise of Skywalker doesn’t even feel like a Star Wars movie.

the first 30 minutes of this movie was so bad that most of the people in the theater with me started laughing and got up ready to leave

didn't even know these families but we ended up just agreeing to stay and laugh at the trainwreck

movie is a fukking abomination. the last season of game of thrones had more effort and cohesion

And the first of those two are dull as hell

I never really got to "know" Rey. Other than her not knowing her identity/parents, Rey was basically a template.

What were Rey's views on the world?
Her own beliefs about evil and good?
What is her "code" or morals?
What does she think of the people around her?

Not to mention, there's no "culture" or "thing" with her that is reflective of her background.

At least Luke was shown to be naive and backwater early on. Rey was felt almost divorced from her context.

Those are crucial elements that a main character oughta have that she didn't.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
makes no sense star wars is the most successful movie franchise ever, why would deviate from that, as you can see, it was a terrible idea

That's like buying McDonalds, getting rid of the golden arches, and selling the Big Mick instead of the big mac, it makes zero fukking sense

$4 billion reasons

$4 billion is still $4 billion.

They paid Lucas $4 billion and then they gotta make the movies they way he wants them too. They was probably laughing at the audacity of it all.

They used the formula that would maximize

1. Ticket sales and more importantly

2. Merchandise sales.

You could tell the set pieces, characters, props and cGI was designed specifically to sell merchandise.

and they ruined the franchise in the process lmao

only an idiot would think it would be a good idea to deviate from george's vision, he gave them the outline, the fans what george's ideas they just don't want him to direct, it was a slam dunk, and the botched it, everything you posted is not what happened in reality

it was pure arrogance, they thought they could do something better than george

just like Rian Johnson's arrogance, thought he could out do Abbrams, and said fukk what he did in the first movie, I'm throw all that out and show them I AM THE GENIUS

This is how the hacks are in hollywood I been out there, they all think they are THE GENIUS, and they know what it is best, they hated star wars and felt they could do it better and understood the fans better, etc, that's what happened

Sad thing is lots of the newer Star Wars material is being used to retcon the sequel trilogy and try to make sense of it.
That's exactly what Mandalorian is going to do for the sequel trilogy its basically what George Lucas and Dave Filoni did on Clone Wars for the prequel movies.

THIS. Rey get powers outta nowhere. Finn is a goof ball when everyone black and white wanted him to he a Jedi. Kylo was getting no respect cause he was a hoe ass nikka. This whole movie was a bait n switch joke
Did she even have a training scene through out the whole trilogy?

I legitimately don’t recall seeing one.
