Getting rid of teacher unions will not drive new college grads towards the inner-cities in fact it will hinder that by weakening one of the only incentives graduates have to go teach in the inner-city which is higher pay.Breaking up teaching unions perpetuates the myth that somehow unions are the reason our country is in fiscal peril.Teachers are an easy target because the majority of people do not respect teaching as a profession or teachers as professionals.People believe teachers are nothing more than glorified baby-sitters who get two months off every summer to kick it in Jamaica. The vast majority of kids who decide to go into teaching do it for real genuine reasons. Most foolishly believe they can change kids lives and other bullshyt, but when they get into the profession and have to deal with the politics and bullshyt that come along with it some do say "fukk it" and leave.People do that in every profession though. People aren't going into teaching to strictly get paid. How many rich teachers do you know?Yes,unions do protect some bad teachers that's just the nature of the beast but getting rid of Unions won't do shyt to improve quality of education overall.

If you want to improve education you have to start by changing the way teachers are being mandated to teach.Get rid of the standardized testing that pushes teachers to teach for memorization rather than true understanding.Get rid of the whole "inch deep, mile wide" curriculum that forces teachers to move on from concepts regardless if his/her students have mastered it.How many times have you been in a classroom and your teacher moved on from a topic even though half of the damn class didn't get it? It's not because she's an evil bytch that doesn't give a fukk, the state mandates that certain things get covered in the classroom regardless of mastery. What good does it do to complete 21 chapters/concepts in Algebra II if only 4 kids truly understand that shyt?

I believe his post was out of frustration. Obama is a great orator with great style. He fist bumps. He gives daps to KD. He plays basketball. He appeals to a lot of younger voters like Bush appealed to avid hunters and Nascar fans.

Romney isn't swagless. He's just business. I'm sorry but if you post Obama's resume versus Romney's it's laughable.

It would be laughable if they were both applying for MD of Goldman Sachs, but if you compare Romney's record as Governor of Massachusetts and Obama's record as President of the United States, it's not even close. Obama is clearly more qualified, even if you disagree with Obama's politics, talking about his "resume" when he's been the President for almost a full term is :heh:

ohhhh but then you aint gave me no facts to go off of breh :shaq2: here go some though:

http://www.forbes.com/sites/erikkai...re-a-big-problem-for-americas-public-schools/

now compare that to finland. another country with teachers unions but an actual value in teachers

http://www.guardian.co.uk/education/2009/nov/09/finland-values-teaching

Finland banned private schools. Teacher turnover is not a "big problem" despite what Forbes :heh: says. Turnover of teachers is not related to the quality of education I'm sorry I do not see the reasoning behind that.

RNC Attendee Allegedly Threw Nuts At Black CNN Camerawoman, Said ‘This Is How We Feed The Animals’ | TPM2012

An attendee at the Republican National Convention in Tampa on Tuesday allegedly threw nuts at a black camerawoman working for CNN and said “This is how we feed animals” before being removed from the convention, a network official confirmed to TPM.

The CNN official declined to confirm specific details of the incident to TPM but generally confirmed an account posted on Twitter by former MSNBC and Current anchor David Shuster: “GOP attendee ejected for throwing nuts at African American CNN camera woman + saying ‘This is how we feed animals.’”

It is not clear whether the alleged culprit was a delegate or attending the convention in some other capacity.

In a written statement, CNN addressed the matter but divulged few details: “CNN can confirm there was an incident directed at an employee inside the Tampa Bay Times Forum earlier this afternoon. CNN worked with convention officials to address this matter and will have no further comment.”

TPM’s calls to RNC and convention officials were not immediately returned.

Yo, I don't think you know this but this is the Higher Learning forum and I'm not a fan of this bullshyt you're doing. First and foremost get those ridiculous red herrings out of here. It speaks a lot to your character and background that when someone mentions that an individual lacks any discernible swagger that you jump to racial stereotypes. Then you wonder why people think Republicans are the KKK party, and I don't even subscribe to that logic. But dumb shyt like this is what brings it about.

You can have a billionaire dollars and be swagless. It just means you're a dry and boring individual. Mitt Romney is widely regarded as a robot, why are you out here fronting?

Oh yeah, you have a Hermain avi, let's hope you're not trolling low key :beli:

Shut your cornball ass up...buh buh this is higher learning...it's all just opinions ain't nobody here on some mighty high philosophy stuff...with all the nonsensical garbage spewed about Ann Romney you get offended at what he said about it not being intelligent enough

Your showing your bias Ho card son...be real your a partisan and have different standards if it's one of yours being attacked...bytch tactics

:what: the hell are u talking about breh?

Every POTUS since FDR has had "something" about them in some form or another...call it swag or whatever.

With Romney there is absolutely nothing there...fukking hollow, swagless empty suit to the core.

So now Truman, Eisenhower, LBJ, Nixon, Carter, Reagan, Bush I, and Bush II had "swag?"

:snoop:

You get a pass on Kennedy and Clinton...they were considered swingers to some extent.

Seriously, you guys set yourself up for these responses.

Worst part is...if Chris Rock were to introduce Obama, and JZ performed before his DNC speech, you'd probably applaud and say he had "swag"

In one year he didn't. In 2004. Kerry wasn't strong enough at all.

@Broken Wave

Prior to 2004 no one knew who Barack was at all. The guy makes an appearance in 2004 and the rest is history. And his Presidency is evident that he isn't "qualified".

Damn I didn't know being CEO of Bain and Gov. of Massachusetts also made u leader of the free world and commander in chief of the world's most powerful army and dealing with the one of a kind US congress.

If thats the case then Romney definitely has more experience being president than a sitting president.
