all in all the remake put a nikka in a good mood especially watching it on a Friday night

Hell nah. Each had different vibes. Both are good. I’ve watched each multiple times. I feel like the star of the second one should be starring in more flicks. He’s been convincing in every role I’ve seen him play.

 Ron O'neal's performance was so convincing as Superfly he had trouble getting work after cuz movie execs thought he was a real street nikka just playing himself on camera. Ron O'neal was a classically trained actor and acting coach and was doing Broadway all before Superfly.

OP is a nut…the diner scene when Priest addresses the shakedown nikkax is crazy

I enjoyed the new one for what it was, a trashy throwaway action flick.

Yes, the original Superfly was spotty but had some good acting like when Eddie betrayed Priest. Or when Priest checks Fat Freddie ( I got 50 men on the street, if they all got bytch problems, I can't eat) Plus the soundtrack is better.
