So are you saying the solution is for black families to be even more dependent on government welfare? Sounds like you never interacted with anybody in an urban/'hood environment. What you are saying about "strengthening social safety net" A.K.A increase government dependency is not a recipe to increase academic success of students in urban areas..would have the opposite effect actually.

Yes better to have hungry and malnourished kids than more food stamps. Better to have kids who sit home alone in front of the tv all night because mom is working a second job than more cash assistance. Better to have children raising children than fight for paid parental leave.

You are a fukking idiot who actively harms the black community and all poor communities by opposing these things.

What? Rachel Maddow, Chris Hayes and several other news anchors have had socialist on. Bernie Sanders and his wife have been on Rachel Maddow show several times. What are you talking about?

What socialists and can you provide a few links to interviews?

There's a significant political gap between Bernie Sanders (a social democrat) and people from Socialist Alternative, for example :francis:

Bernie Sanders has never once spoken about the need to move beyond private property or about the exploitation of labor inherent in capitalism (nor would we really expect him to... a mass movement is needed to put these questions on the table)

Oops I meant prospect park south. Slope south is 4 roommates to a 1br price range. :scust:

But farthest would be Church ave. If I can grab a spot near that Blink on Flatbush and be able to take the Q train to work :banderas:, but I'm looking at 1600 for a small ass apt.
Sounds like you should be voting for Sanders :mjpls:

Instilling more socialist programs isnt going to end the prison industrial complex or mass incarceration in fact one could argue the more "social safety net" programs that were implemented the more black males started to fill the prison yards

Government socialist programs arent going to solve the problem of malnourished kids, better parents will though..

Government socialist programs arent going to solve the problem of a single mom working 2 jobs leaving the kids at home..Having an active father in the home will though infact more government programs means that single mothers can rely less on men to their job and in effect they marry the government..And stats show increase of single motherhood means an increase in poverty..Your idea of big government exacerbates the problem because now their isnt a motivation for a mother and father to work out their differences in the best interest in the child because they know the all mighty government will be there to toss a few doggie treats..the kids lose in the end

So what your saying is that any black person who doesnt agree with socialist programs is working actively against the needs of black people in this country:mjlol:..thats honestly some shyt a cracker from the suburbs who never been in these streets would say:mjlol: you can get the fukk on with that line of thinking nobody who every has been successful and from the hood would advocate for more government dependency programs..Integration along with welfare programs that promote dependency has devastated our community, but you wouldnt know about that plight now would you white boy:mjpls:

You could argue that, but you'd be completely wrong :dead:

The slashing of social spending began in the late 70s/early 80s and accelerated from there, that overlaps with the incarceration boom which began in the 80s and continued through the present.

The prison-industrial complex is a capitalist phenomenon. Why doesn't this sin get laid at the feet of capitalism? :francis:

There would be no basis for mass incarceration (the converting of bodies into capital) in a system based on production for human need instead of profit.

Also, just a side note, I do not perceive social programs as equaling socialism, and I object to that characterization.

that isnt a "need" at all thats the most short sighted view within the context of America..black people cannot succeed in this country by giving up private property for some faux "greater good"..If it involves white people or a white supremacist government there is no greater good or advantage of "moving beyond private property" for black folk

Tell me of what social safety net programs that were in place in which black people were allowed to participate en mass before 1965?

No one exists outside of capitalism... capital is omnipresent and orders everyone's life, regardless of race.

Yea but that statement doesnt account for RACISM...Socialism with the makeup of THIS society would actually make race relations worse..No way some CAC czar would distribute equally the rations of labor to white folk on the same level of black folk..Not happening in this country..so I rather have market and capital to have a chance to chart my own economic path..fukk relying on government for shyt I can do myself in any form
