The question must be asked: Is Ladd McConkey better than Marvin Harrison Jr?

They're using MHJ as a decoy, his average depth of target is crazy. This allows McBride to eat. He's got like 120 targets and 90 receptions so far this year
I'm not sure it's a wise decision to use a 4th overall pick on a decoy.

It's a bold strategy. Let's see how it pays off for Arizona.

Seems like he’s more like a traditional WR: deep and intermediate threat. Some of these other WR’s feel like not only are they good deep and intermediate, but are very dynamic with the ball on screen passes for YAC.

Like a Tyreek, Puka, Ja’Marr Chase, Shakir, etc. completely have the full game. Nabers does as well. Running with the ball in your hands when the defense isn’t behind you takes a certain creativity.
So a Possession Receiver ala a Chris Carter type.

As I say in every thread about prospects, they have never been able to predict generational talents!!!

Generational is a marketing term not a scouting term, we gotta stop letting them say this stuff because it's only going to color how we see them and end up disappointed.

100%. Never chase unicorns. If a player doesn’t comp directly to another player or role, it’s a red flag. That’s why I was off on worthy. Top WRs don’t look anything like him

And they doing it again with Travis Hunter. What NFL WR does he look like? And he’s not playing both ways in the NFL:why: But they just keep screaming generational

My comp is he’d be lucky to be Antonio Cromartie who had a sold career. But bc of the hype that’d be a letdown for Hunter

This is just a weird tangent that has nothing to do with anything. There were plenty of direct comps for MHJ coming out. AJ Green and Larry Fitz were the two most common I saw. Problem is that he hasn’t lived up to it.

MHJ not explosive and it shows on film. He creates no separation and is not aggressive.

Odunze doesn't create separation either.

MHJ needs to work with Fitzgerald in the off season. They have the same body type. He'll have to become a tactician
Bingo.

MHJ isn't a slippery, 6'0" 195 lb type receiver like all the LSU guys, McConkey etc....a Gen Z WR.

He's more like the old school Gen X/Millenial receivers (T.O., Fitz, Megatron, Anquan, Playmaker, Dez etc). Big, fast in a straight-line....like a fully loaded Rolls Royce. A Rolls is not gonna handle like a Porsche or 350Z. Bet someone like Mahomes or Allen could get the most out of him.

MHJ has been bad. As much as everyone has been trying to bend over backwards to make it Kyler’s fault, dude is never open.

There was one play earlier in the year where MHJ came out of a break late open and Kyler didn’t see it. Play got clipped and went viral like “see, this is why he isn’t getting targets!” Haven’t seen any of those since though.
Yup, & the QB excuse gets tiring when you see Brian Thomas Jr produce with inconsistent Trevor Lawerence & some damn Mac Jones

Kyler was happy to throw up 50/50 balls to DHop too, so the fact that he’d rather give try McBride 14 targets and throw as many times to Greg dortch as he does MHJ says something.

TO, Anquan and Dez were YAC monsters. You cant be great after the catch like they were, without great agility/quickness.

This is a Jamar Chase vs Amon Ra-St.Brown like comparison

Jamarr can give you the bigger explosive plays, crazy TDs and is a true outside WR

Amon Ra can line up everywhere and just kills you on volume because he’s always open somehow but he’s not really going to kill you over the top

It’s a preference thing and I think Ladd vs MHJr might work out that same way

I said before the draft MHJ was overrated. No disrespect. He was just not generational. Def wasn’t the best player in the draft like scouts were saying. I had Nabers and BTJ over him. BTJ is what MHJ was getting hyped to be. Never saw the hype when watching his tape. Marv might have 3 broken tackles on his whole career mixtape at OSU. Ladd has been severely underrated. Him and Brock were the bedrock of UGAs offense. The player who should’ve gotten the generational hype was Bowers. He was the best player in last years draft. Was the best offensive player as a freshman on a championship team in the SEC. Damn near won 3 straight ships. Now he’s already breaking records with scrubs at QB
