the genre may be 30 years old but it's not the same genre as it was 30 years ago much like a child who grows up to be a murderer, the child didn't start off that way, but now he is, and when he's out killing it'd be insanity to mention how he used to play Nintendo in the early 90's. It's about what the genre is doing TODAY, and that's promoting drugs, sex, violence and an unrealistic lifestyle directly to impoverished people.

The genre has always content like that. Same for the negative content getting more press than the positive content.
