This will be the creature never "made" the first film/franchise like the creature in "Alien" did. It was Arnold and co.
Nah, in Predators they don't acknowledge or mention the original or Predator 2. They also have no bearing on Predators. No actors from the first two films are involved. They use the same setting as the first, put a bunch of "gun specialists" in a jungle and have them get hunted down by re-designed predators. It was essentially a reboot/remake. They even remade the "CONTACT" scene in the movie.
They even had a guy using a minigun like Bill Duke's did

Nah this is crazy, the Stan Winston-designed alien is one of the most memorable things about the movie
Did u see the predator design before Stan Winston the gawd laced it?
Predator is probably one of the illest designed character/alien I've ever seen.

Aliens vs Arnold?"Alien" doesn't work without the creature. "Predator" doesn't work without Arnold.
Aliens vs Arnold?
"Alien" doesn't work without the creature. "Predator" doesn't work without Arnold.
The predator is still essential to the movie. Or else there wouldn't, y'know, be a movie.
Predator at this point is more essential to the movie than Arnold. It's not like terminator where you identify him because he is the terminator. When I think of predator I think of the creature first. You get a rag tag group of rumble tumble nikkas in the jungle ready to take him out
Don't get me wrong, one of the reasons Predator works so well is because the cast itself is so iconic. It's like action movie mythology. Adrien Brody doesn't have the same image or icon status as Arnold or Carl Weathers.
Rodriguez wanted it to be a sequel to the OG seems like its a bit of both a sequel and reboot. Mcfly is right about it being what Aliens was to Alien. At least that was Rodriguez plan .
Ok but that was robert rodriguez words..and Did u not read @MartyMcFly post from above?"Aliens" is a direct continuation of the first film and features a character from the first film who is integral to the plot.
Predators was a reboot. The story of "Predator" has no bearing on "Predators". "Predators" would work even if "Predator" didn't exist. As I said before they even re-designed the look of the creature(even "Alien vs Predators" didn't do that).
"Aliens" did not copy then setting of the first film. It did not recreate a bunch of scenes from the original. It did not copy the structure of the first film.
Adrian Brody even tried to imitate Arnold .
