Well what's the sense in remaking something that's NOT a classic?? If it wasn't that great the first time when why would we wanna see it again? The fact that it's being remade in the first place is a testament to the greatness of the original is it not?

There's plenty sense in remaking movies that aren't classic because then they can try to get it right the second time. There's also plenty sense in remaking movies that are classic because then it's a different interpretation of the material.



As far as I know, Predators didn't have any studio interference but it still felt like it. Like there were parts left on the cutting room floor or just elided. Hopefully this next one is rated R so Shane Black can be all Shane Black.

Don't count on them recasting the same characters. What's the point of retelling a classic story if all you're gonna do is tell the same story?

An alien creature hunting people in the woods. That's the only thing I imagine this film will share in common with the old one. The story and the characters will most likely - and rightfully SHOULD - differ.

If they didn't plan on using the original concept of a commando squad in a jungle somewhere getting picked off one by one by an alien hunter then what is the point of calling this a reboot? They could just have Shane Black make another Predators type movie.
They may not use all of the same characters but I bet they use the basic storyline of the original film.

id rather see whole new predator movie. predators sucked imo. they exaggerrated the predators features too much. the whole thing was just too Hollywood for me. the story and dialogue werent good either.

anyway, ill still check this for sure id just rather have something brand new. ive always been fascinated with the predator species especially after P2 when he gives Danny glover the gun from the 1800s or something at the end. id like to know more about their history and culture.

Yea I can't be mad at this. If its wack it will be forgotten like all the rest of the garbage remakes and the originals will still live on. I just hope they dont go overboard with the CGI and special effects. All you need is a good script and decent actors.

I have the same opinion on remakes and adaptations of books/comics too.
The original is still available to me so the new movie doesn't really bother me if it sucks and if it is good then there is just another option for me to enjoy something I like.

Thats the only thing I liked about the AVP movies. We only got a glimpse of their homeworld.

Thing that was lame about Predators was that it didn't include that scene in the trailers where there's like 20 predators pointing their lasers at Adrien Brody. I remember seeing that being like "how the hell is gonna get out of this?"

Nah, in Predators they don't acknowledge or mention the original or Predator 2. They also have no bearing on Predators. No actors from the first two films are involved. They use the same setting as the first, put a bunch of "gun specialists" in a jungle and have them get hunted down by re-designed predators. It was essentially a reboot/remake. They even remade the "CONTACT" scene in the movie.





They even had a guy using a minigun like Bill Duke's did
