Reboot a classic that is still a top 10 action flick to this day brehs.

Here's my stance on reboots and I'm glad this came up: I don't give a damn. Does it erase my blu ray copy of predator? Nope. Are they going to stop showing Predator every other day on Starz or Encore? Nope. Will it replace the original in my mind or anyone else's? No. So in the end, what does it matter? Fox has been trying to figure out a way to get back into that universe for a while and as a fan of Predator, I'm all for going back into that world because like cowbell, I need more Predator. The creative team behind it is dope so until I see otherwise, I don't have an issue with it. Remember that Nightmare on Elm St remake from a couple years ago? Yeah neither do I. If the shyt is weak then it'll be a blip on the radar. If it's dope though, you get a chance to see more fukkin Predator and who here amongst us can be against that?

I have the same opinion on remakes and adaptations of books/comics too.
The original is still available to me so the new movie doesn't really bother me if it sucks and if it is good then there is just another option for me to enjoy something I like.

And now on to my casting suggestions (because I love shyt like this)! Here is who I would cast in the parts from the original Predator flick:

Dutch (Arnold Schwarezenegger) - Dwayne Johnson
Dillon (Carl Weathers) - Anthony Mackie
Mac (Bill Duke) - Wesley Snipes
Blain (Jesse Ventura) - Steve Austin
Billy (Sonny Landham) - Jason Momoa
Poncho (Richard Chaves) - Michael Pena
Hawkins (Shane Black) - Noel Fisher
Anna (Elpidia Carrillo) - Dania Ramirez
The Predator (Kevin Peter Hall)- Some freakishly tall motherfukker

Well what's the sense in remaking something that's NOT a classic?? If it wasn't that great the first time when why would we wanna see it again? The fact that it's being remade in the first place is a testament to the greatness of the original is it not?

Don't count on them recasting the same characters. What's the point of retelling a classic story if all you're gonna do is tell the same story?

An alien creature hunting people in the woods. That's the only thing I imagine this film will share in common with the old one. The story and the characters will most likely - and rightfully SHOULD - differ.

I need to see how Arnold does in this new Terminator and Conan flick before I decide how I feel about him being old man Dutch
Didn't they say Dutch died of radiation poisoning in Predator 2?

I don't care if a franchise is rebooted or a movie i love is remade. It doesn't affect the original in any way shape or form.

:ohhh: you're probably right. I know they wanted Arnold to be in part 2 but he felt they were making a mistake taking Predator out of the jungle so his role became Busey's role

And I agree. Halloween has been remade and I know which copy of the film that's sitting on my shelf right now. Shyt really doesn't matter, people get themselves in a tizzy over nothing. Especially when people stop and think that a few movies people adore are remakes or at least the 2nd or 3rd adaptation of source material: The Thing, Wizard of Oz, The Birdcage, 3:10 to Yuma, Ocean's 11, The Fly, the original assault on precinct 13, The Maltese Falcon, True Lies, Little Shop of Horrors, True Grit, The Departed:sas1:

Huge predator fan and even though they haven't had the greatest success I've really liked all the sequels that have came our, especially the VS aliens ones

I hope they use one of the many predator comic books as the source for the reboot

If it wasnt great at first, they can do a better job with the remake.
