Really don’t think they had the best chemistry tho... and I’m thinking that was kinda deliberate .

Right...when they needed it show how much they liked each other it worked. When they needed it to be awkward it worked. Everything they did on screen together worked.

At least that's what I meant when I said they're chemistry was great together.

just got back from takin my wife to see it....it is a good date flick....just ok overall..

the chemistry between Issa and Lakeith is not that great....tbh this was a 90% Love Jones knockoff.....:manny:

i supported this for my nikka Lakeith tho...who is slowly becoming one my fav actors of all time....
Dap+rep Same analysis and just saw Sorry To Bother You. LaKeith is a bad dude. I want to add that the movie was hella predictable. I enjoyed it for what it was. 8/10

The Land of fukkery
I enjoyed this. Like someone else said it’s really the little things like them meeting and just living. I felt like they really got those moments perfect. Like when they were in the restaurant talking about music. That’s just some regular normal shyt but I loved those moments how they were both nervous around each other.

the parents love story was cool but I hated how there felt like parts were missing from that story.

when Issa met Lakeith in London for the Kendrick Lamar concert and Lakeith flinched and teared up when he saw her.... :wow:

Bama ass DC
Checked it out on HBO max :ehh:
Aint bad for a love flick, and I hate love flicks.
Seemed more like a life movie than a love movie I guess.
Cast was good, cept that lil rel nikka but thats cause I dont find him funny in the least bit. And something bout the looks Issa makes with her face I cant describe it, almost like she's trying not to laugh or smile so she stares off. Idk its kinda weird.
Soundtrack was dope.

My biggest overall complaint was that them nikkas evacuated from her at least 2nd story crib during a storm and the streets weren't even flooded :martin: they aint have nobody there to catch that shyt and be like "yo we need some more water in the streets, aint nobody leaving their crib to get out of this!"

Cool date movie, it was nice to see a somewhat light hearted black movie that doesn’t involve the ugly side of being black in America. I liked how the movie was very much grounded in reality of how dating is when you both have good careers. Things can be un traditional but still work out.

The synapses had me thinking this was going to be a dark movie with a plot twist. But it was just a drama about real people

Saw it.

I liked the music, seeing good looking black people on screen. I think the parents love story>Issa and Lakieth's. And I think the end was disappointing. All they did was decide to keep dating. Whoopdie do. I can't get a happily EVER AFTER? I still recommend it tho.
I think the ending was realistic way for their situation. Coming from someone who has lived overseas and dated long distance, it be’s like that sometimes. It’s not traditional but it is worth a shot
This movie wasnt that good imo. Great directing, cinematography, and music but the story fell flat imo. Michael ran smooth game on Mae. He truly didn't like her
Huh? How you figure that?
The ending was unrealistic and it just wouldn’t work. Good movie though
How was it unrealistic?
