I’d say Stanfield’s acting may break it too.

This is the first time he isn’t doing a character acting and will be a love interest.

Just came back from seeing this w/my ole lady....very good date night movie, it moved a little slow for my liking but these movies ain't really my thing anyway :hubie:

Rel is usually not funny to me but he had me cracking up in this one..

lakeith stansfield is definitely an above average actor

overall it was a cool little movie :ehh:

Took my fiancée to see this and we were both disappointed. Issa is good in comedies but she’s not as great in dramas and her and Lakeith lacked chemistry. Movie was trying to convince us they were deeply in love and I didn’t see it.

I get and appreciate that they were trying to be more lowkey and not overdramatic in their tone but it was a little too lowkey, I had trouble staying awake at parts

Lil Rel and his wife were the best characters, whenever they were on screen there was an energy boost.

idk I really wanted to like this and I like that we got a movie showing black folks just being normal but it could’ve been a lot better.
