You're missing the fact that Punt predates the presence of Bantus in East Africa @KidStranglehold. If Punt was in Uganda (which is a preposterous claim IMO), the area would still have been populated by Cushytes, San and Nilotes. I would still be able to claim it
:Hemad:

Somalis didn't even exist back then. Heck, we hadn't even split from the habeshas and the rest of the Cushytes with whom we shared common ancestry.. But there is little doubt that the kingdom was located somewhere in the Horn. Probably the area between Eritrea and northern Somalia :yeshrug:

I only see this debated on Afrocentric forums, where the underlying assumption is that associating punt with the Horn is a form of White-washing of history because... You know... We're Sand Cacs and shyt :stopitslime:

We the real Puntites

You would have a good point IF I was arguing Punt was in Uganda which I never said anything close to if you read my post. Instead, I said Punt was most likely in Southeast Sudan and Highlander Eritrea.

I see evidence for Eritrea but not Somalia. Need more sources.

You're gonna have to show us cause I'm seeing more with Eastern Sudanese and Eritreans. And if you're going to say Somalis and Habesha were one people back then, then I ask were Somalis Highlanders before?

We have the same origins. Split occurred 3000 years ago iirc. Will check my sources later.

I already posted the latest research on the location of Punt bro. Somewhere between Eritrea and northern Somalia. There was no such thing as "habesha" or "somali" back then. We're talking 2500 BC.

Of course there were no "Habesha" or "Somali" back then but back then did you guys share the same lineages? Because I personally doubt it. Somalis seem to be a Southern Cushytic people like Oromos. While Hesbeshas seem to be a Northern one. IMO the split would have not happened that late but probably early during the Holocene.

All Cushytes originate somewhere in North East Africa. Habeshas are basically semitized Agews IMO :yeshrug:

@KidStranglehold to be perfectly honest with you, it's been literally years since I looked into any of this stuff so my knowledge is very rusty. I might've messed up some of the timelines etc.

Horners are delusional and actually buy into that "ancient people" myth

They DID trade with Romans and others during classical times. There zero denying that. However, I am doubtful Punt was in Somalia and there is some extreme exaggerations when concerning early Somali history.

What exaggeration? :jbhmm:

When it comes to the land of Punt among other things. I've seen some Somalis online(the real radical ones) go as far to say they were the founders of Kush since modern day Somalis are called "Cushyte" ignoring that the term "Cushyte" was recently placed on certain AA speakers.

We're the original black people:blessed:

The cradle of civilization

Yeah those people annoy me too.

But the Punt claims are legit tho. Not as far as to say that they were Somali, but there's a very good chance that it encompassed parts of modern day Somalia.

So far Euronuts have been throwing a festival right now but they don't realise its not saying what they think it is.
