What resolution are you going to be gaming at, 1080p or something else?

Are you gonna build it or do you want a prefab one?

Probably gonna want to get a nvidia 970 if you're at 1080p (about $350 or a third of your budget), to be more future proof. Right now you only need an i5, but that may change in the future, with new games recommending an i7 and directx 12 coming out, which will use more cores. It's up to you about how future proof you wanna be. I guess you really only need 8gb of ram (but I'd personally go for more, but that's just me). You can get a cheap case for $100 dollars or some shyt. You don't have to go all out on the motherboard unless you want to. Try to get a 250gb ssd, but it's not a necessity (highly recommended though). Probably can get a fairly good psu for under $100 if you look.

This seems like a good build, just change out the video card to the latest (the nvidia 970) (and add a bigger ssd or change the case for whatever you want).

I did recommend the 970. Re-read my post again. It's the first thing I mentioned and I specifically said to change out the GPU to a 970 in the build that was listed

Man is it really this hard to get a GTX 970? It's sold out everywhere.

Amazon has some of the evga one's but they are overpriced...

I never see the 970's or 980's available on new egg...

I had said I was going to cop some titan blacks next year but i think i will hold out for the 8gb 980's...

the 4 gb 980's are hilariously efficient as it pertains to power...nvidia does it again

FF13 sure is pretty.

not sure if it was this pretty on ps3, so i may be a bit out-dated but :noah:

i think i saw an option in the FF13 resolution mod/fix that allowed no-hud screenshots, need to get into that later.

these are also non-enhanced, i.e no sweetFX or shader/injector settings. might have to handle put some DoF, sharpening and or color adjustments later.

outrageous :smh: Hopefully you didn't just finish downloading this now.

haha nah, my steam was going about 6.5mb/s... so i finished everything in about 2 hrs(?)

and yeah, the mod/fix only renders resolutions that are 16:9, so anything out of that scope gets letterboxed i guess. not a huge deal, oddly enough i enjoy letterbox at times, feels cinematic

games have been crashing for the past couple of months.
i can play games for 15 min - hour but then they crash.

this happened to me last year and found out it was a bad ram stick...removed it and i was good.
now it's happening again.

can it be that another ram stick has gone bad?

no problems other than while gaming.
