it also has gsync, so maintaining a high framerate isn't as important
it's true, but it's a 144hz monitor still the same.

If all he cares about is 60fps, then he should get that 4K Rog and be future proof

might need 2 gpus to take advantage of that monitor though breh

:wtf: bruh.. ima ignore that :pachaha:

gsync

plus 2 monitors doesn't seem to be that great for gaming. sure it's nice to game on one monitor, and have a second monitor to look at other stuff, but you don't need two brand new matching monitors to do that

BenQ has GSYNC monitors being released shortly with probably a way better price range (im guessing) or at worse will make the ASUS ROG better pricing.

You're getting a 144hz monitor. That means it goes up to 144fps. If you only care about 60fps, then get the 4K ROG instead and be future proof. I think it's the exact same price.

yeah, I was gonna say you might want to wait until more gsync monitors release, and there's more options

thats not how it works :pachaha:

I have 60hz monitor right now and can get 120+fps on games already bruh :pachaha:

a 970GTX or 980GTX would be overkill for 144hz on 1 monitor.. Theres more to this PC gaming shyt than just throwing money at your computer :yeshrug:

You cannot see 120fps on a 60hz monitor :mjlol:

What are you even talking about?

Your eye cant physically see past 60 FPS anyway, but I can surely load games at high settings and 120 fps bruh...
You can have 10 billion fps on a 30hz monitor. You're still going to see 30 fps.

I don't think you understand how monitors work.

And yes, your eyes can see past 60fps. Do some research.

What's the point of getting the 144hz monitor if you're only gonna game at 60fps. Makes absolutely no sense. The 4K monitor, for the exact same price is the better buy.

Why would I be at 60 fps at a 144 hz monitor with a 980GTX :wtf:

I dont think YOU understand how monitors work

by the way, theres a clear difference on my monitor from 80 FPS and 59 FPS.

What monitor do you currently have? Is it 60hz? If so, then you are not seeing a difference from 60fps and 80fps. You're making it up.

If you have a 120hz monitor, then that's a different subject. But apparently you can't see past 60fps, so I guess the point is moot.

1440p is not 1080p. You're not gonna get 60fps on ultra as easily. There's a reason why most people with 1440p have 2 gpus

well if you're not using vsync, or otherwise limiting your framerate, your card is still rendering those frames

there's actually much discussion in the 'competitive gaming community' about whether or not those extra frames make a difference. most seem to think it does, as a higher framerate means less input-lag, regardless of the monitor's refresh rate

You're not seeing those frames though (which is what we're talking about here)

You are bro... I can tell a difference in smoothness in a game that goes from 80-110 FPS and never drops below those frames than one that hovers around 57-60 FPS with vsync

the gpu is still rendering those frames and animations based on when the player moved the mouse, pressed a button, etc. the faster it renders frames, the more responsive it will 'feel'
