I know I got the ram sticks in the right slots. What's the best way of testing out my ram? I'm doing a blended test on Prime 95, that tests out ram too, but I'm not sure it's the best test

how many ram sticks do you have?
i had 4.

i took one out at a time and played.
if the crash happened i put the stick that was out back in and took another out.

i did this until i found the bad stick.
then i retested the bad stick and it was the only one that caused crashes while gaming.

i still have the stick so i can :scusthov: at it whenever i see it.

I just ran a windows memory diagnostics test and the RAM appears to be all good.

I have 2 8gb sticks.

I'm gonna run BF4 for like 3 hours straight. If I get a crash again, I'm gonna try your method.

Thanks for the help breh

i ran a ram diagnostic and it came up clean.
but when i did an actual physical test by taking one out at a time it told a different story.

:ohhh: Interesting. Did your shyt crash after a certain amount of time or was it a quick crash when you started the game?

it would crash after 20 minutes or so.
everything would be gravy but then it would freeze...i had to do a hard reboot.
everything else was fine except for gaming more than 20-30 minutes.

Did it happen with every game, or just some?

How long do y'all normally run a Prime95 stress test?

I keep getting random freezes in games (where I have to hard reset my machine). I'm not sure what is causing it (maybe windows 8), but I wanna check my CPU temps under stress. It's been going for about 5 minutes and I'm at 45C with all cores (nothing is OC'd right now). I know that's good, but how long should I run it to make sure everything is all good?

Do i really gotta run this for 24 hours? :sadcam:

run handbrake to render files for about 15 mins
run 10 maximum passes linpack/Intel burn test
prime95 for 12 hours is considered rock stable me thinks

I've been playing BF4 for about 2 hours straight and no problems. I'm gonna run that memtest86 now I think.

Thanks @DF is BUSY

edit: I guess I'll have to do memtest86 later. I gotta have a disk I see...
