I had 14.6 beta installed. I reinstalled it and it still was doing it. I rebooted and put the power limit of the card at 20% with msi ab. it seemed to have worked. one of the fans seem to be spinning slow.

@2gunsup the video card price raised and MC didn't een have the card anyway. So I returned my 7870 for $234 and got a r9 280X 3GB for $231.99 open box and it came with 4 games and 2 years warranty.

Those used 290s are usually sub 300 on Amazon but people snatch them up quick fast. Either way its hard to beat a 280x at $231 with warranty and games. Good cop.

How long do y'all normally run a Prime95 stress test?
I keep getting random freezes in games (where I have to hard reset my machine). I'm not sure what is causing it (maybe windows 8), but I wanna check my CPU temps under stress. It's been going for about 5 minutes and I'm at 45C with all cores (nothing is OC'd right now). I know that's good, but how long should I run it to make sure everything is all good?
Do i really gotta run this for 24 hours?

None, but I was just playing battlefield 4 for like an hour and it randomly crashed on me and I had to do a hard reset. (BF4 runs great in 8.1 btw...the first time I really appreciated the OS)
I was getting random crashes in Watch Dogs that forced hard resets too, but I assumed it was just related to that game. This random BF4 crash is worrying me. Maybe I'll just run BF4 for like 3 hours straight and watch some tv. If I get another crash, then I'll worry.
New rigs are awesome, but at the same time frustrating as shyt. I want everything to be perfect, but I guess that can never be the case
shyt, my temps are actually going down now and Prime95 is still running strong. I guess my CPU and cooler are fine. Must be something else. Hmmm... Or it could be nothing. I dunno.
Also, if I overclock this shyt, I should be getting max temps of around 60C, right?

i had a similar problem last year, crashing while gaming and only gaming.
i checked every fukking thing 3 times...except my ram.
so i started swapping out ram sticks by using 3 instead of four and making sure they were all in the right slots.
turns out one of my ram sticks was ass.
i got rid of the bad one and have been working with 12 gigs of ram instead of 16 ever since but my shyt runs hella smoove now breh.
check yer ram sticks.
I know I got the ram sticks in the right slots. What's the best way of testing out my ram? I'm doing a blended test on Prime 95, that tests out ram too, but I'm not sure it's the best test
