Yea win 8 is smooth..and nah..I read if u have a hardware change like an HDD that can happen as well..especially the way mine failed..shyt just completely stopped working..pissed me off I couldn't recover any of my data..I'm done with Seagate..

You can sometimes salvage a HDD that appears to be failed with some recovery tools from the manufacturer itself. Seagate has a tool for DOS
SeaTools for DOS | Seagate . I repaired an HD that looked like it wouldn't work anymore using a tool like this(but for a different manufacturer.)

it's a pretty hardcore open-world survival-horror game. it's from 2007, but the "Stalker Complete" mod and a little sgssaa make it look pretty good

you have to manually install the VC++ runtime that comes with it. and manually set your resolution with the "edit settings" batch file (via notepad)

my fps was in the 30's through most of it, but dipped to the teens when ice-dude came out at the end
