im fukkin pissed. my HDD failed and I bought a new one and now my windows activation key won't work. windows won't activate. I need a new key.
I thought those OEM versions were tied to your mobo. I just went through that. first I got a SSD, and had no problem doing a fresh install and moving my licence. but then I upgraded my mobo (and cpu) and needed a new licence

I went with windows 8 :sadcam:

shyt ain't bad so far though. I guess I got in at a good time, cause I just have it boot to the desktop, and shyt pretty much looks and acts like win7. d3doverrider is hit or miss, but other than that I haven't had many issues with win8. shyt sure is snappy and boots hella fast

I'm still rolling with this GTX 670. If I plan on gaming at 1920x1080 on my TV, I shouldn't need to upgrade my card for awhile, right? I'm itching to make an upgrade, but i'm trying to decide if I should upgrade my processor, video card, or ram.

i5-3570k
GTX670
8 GB of ram.

I'm trying to figure out which will become a bottleneck first.

you talking from experience?

Yep. Tried switching my 16GB out for 32GB and shyt went to hell. Now none of the RAM sticks work old or new. Even used the replacement back up sticks that I've never used. Just get 3 beeps in a boot menu but the keyboard ain't responding then it goes black with a text command cursor flashing in the upper left corner.

I'm assuming it's a motherboard issue if I couldn't fix it with 3 different sets of RAM sticks. I should also mention that I accidentally ripped a piece of an sli slot out trying to replace the card (:beli:) but I don't think that would have any effect since I'm only using 2 cards and I have 2 functioning PCI slots anyway. I don't think it would be me switching my graphics cards because I'm still getting a display regardless.

So now I got a new motherboard on the way...:snoop:.
