Upgrading my nieces PC soon. She currently has a 3900x CPU, x570 hero mobo w ddr4 ram and a rtx 3080.

Just bought her a 7800x3d CPU and g.skill flare ddr5 6000mhz cl30 ram. Just gotta figure which motherboard to get her.

No gonna lie, I like my 3070Ti, however, I could see myself replacing it soon and go after either the 7900 XT or the 4080. I'll probably wait till next year since I'm not really in a rush.

I’m holding off for 5000 series from my 3080. Probably do a full rebuild from MOBO at that point, since 8700k is getting long in the tooth.

I’m holding off for 5000 series from my 3080. Probably do a full rebuild from MOBO at that point, since 8700k is getting long in the tooth.

I'm good on everything else. I'll just look into getting another SATA and NVME SSD and monitor seeing as I'm still on 1080p.

I'm guessing we're sill a year or so away from a 5090 release, but if it really is 1.7x better than the 4090 it's going to be a good card. I wonder if it'll have any higher power requirements....probably.

It might even be more. Then you gotta pay scalper eBay prices if you don’t get lucky during drops. Looking damn near $3K after that. Then a new waterblock and new psu if the power requirements are that much higher. $4K then. But if it’s 1.7 times better, it’ll be worth it.
