Thank goodness I don't game on my PC, and feel no pressure to get a new GPU:whew:

I keep buy alerts for retail cards, but if I score one, I'm probably just flipping it:lolbron:

Bought a prebuilt from ibuypower in March.

It has a May shipping date but I may get it sooner. We'll see how it goes, this market is crazy.

Bought my 3090 at launch and didn't think twice about it :hubie:

I remember reading some manufacturers were saying stock should stabilize by the end of October :skip:
Let's not pretend it hasn't been a crap shoot since day 1 though. If you didn't get lucky enough to get your hands on one by late January, early February, you had to hold an L by default.

fukk you and everything you are :pacspit:. I wanted a Vision because it would have looked better in my build
full

The crazy thing is i traded this to a local friend. He gave me 250 on top of his 3080 so he can get this one. He said the same thing he wanted the all white one to match his build.

My rig don't even have windows so idc what 3080 is in there as long as it's quality. With the extra 250 he gave me and the evga xc3 ultra he traded me i think my 3080 only cost around 475 give or take cause i also resold that power supply. :blessed:

Part of me wants to upgrade my 3800x but honestly nothing i'm playing right now requires it.

I’ve never built a pc, how difficult is it?

It's not hard at all honestly. Most modern cases have clear visuals where parts go. I followed a youtube guide my first build and had everything up and running within 4 hours. I think the hardest thing was mounting the cpu cooler. Just make sure you have the proper tools.

But with the way prices are it's better to look at prebuilts right now.

Aren’t even prebuilts more expensive now with the shortage going on?

Easy, plus there's YouTube. Only issue I had is my 3090 wouldn't seat cleanly because of the sag, so I couldn't get it to boot. Almost everything goes in only 1 way.

In my opinion it would be better to just wait. I would never buy a prebuilt. Most do not give you the option to choose what parts are used and typically cut corners on some of the most important components (like PSU). Even then depending on what you need the PC for, you could just get a processor with integrated graphics and run with that until prices are more resonable.
