CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
GPU: MSI Radeon RX 5700 XT
MOBO: Gigabyte X570 Aorus Pro WiFi Motherboard
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws V F4-3600C16D-16GVK 16GB
HDD: Samsung 970 Evo Plus 512 GB M.2 NVMe SSD
PSU: Corsair RM850X

Planning a new AMD build, any thoughts/suggestions? Just gotta save some money and wait for the the manufacturers to come out with their own GPUs :francis:

I don't want no AMD slander either :birdman: I'm repping #opensource gang so I don't want to go back to intel after that spectre BS

You probably don't need the 970 evo. You can get a larger SSD for cheaper. I picked up a 1TB HP EX920 M2 for $99.99. You can use this PDF to chose another SSD:
https://ssd.borecraft.com/SSD_Buying_Guide.pdf

Don't think you need a 850W psu. You probably only need a 650. You can use this calculator to know what you need:

I’ll need either a laptop or desk too for gaming and school work might be going back to learn how to code if that helps

Those 5700's seem like the best deal for GPU's right now. The XT is about equal or little slower than the 2070 super but costs much less.

Maybe save a few $$ and get the 3700 and manually overclock.

Ay brehs looking at getting a refurb laptop on newegg until I build my rig next year.

Looking at some laptops in that $150-$200 range as I only need it for music production.,maybe play rocksmith 2014.

Question is SSD worth it, and with a 128gb SSD that comes with Windows 10 how much memory would I have left?

SSD is mandatory especially if ur using music production. 128GB ssd with windows on it will leave u with 70+ or so GBs. U can always use an external HD as storage for songs, videos, pics, ect. But make sure u load windows and whatever music production program you are gonna use on the SSD. Everything else can go to an external HD

I want something high end with an unlimited budget

What am I looking at?
No brag, but my pc setup had pretty much the best of the best for everything. 2080ti (x2) in SLI, 64 gb of trident z ram, best Asus rog motherboard, all SSD, 4K 144hz monitor, everything custom cooled with hard tubing, i9 cpu, A5+ speakers, Focal utopia headphones, Chord Hugo TT2 external dac and headphone amp, etc.

You’re easily looking at 5 figures. How much are you willing to spend? 15K could probably max you out with everything, at the highest quality.

If you need some help on specs, I can provide some recommendations. I love overkill PCs :blessed:

He said highest quality with no budget. AMD is all about budget

Ryzen 2 R9's are not budget Threadrippers are certainly not budget.

With Intel you are just paying for the name at this point. There is no reason to buy a new Intel CPU.
