Say brehs. I got a noob question.

I recently copped this pc i5 8400 and gtx 1050 2gb

When I run this gears of war 4 benchmark test, for vram it says total 2gb and 1.45 available, and usage 1.58

Is it normal for available and usage to be lower than total ?

is 2080ti worth the upgrade, thinking I might sell my 1080ti gaming x and cop it
Yes, Ray-Tracing is a legit game changer. And you can run most games at 4K, 60 fps, ultra, even with Ray-tracing on. Also, DLSS is amazingly efficient, in terms of barely hurting performance. It’s kinda amazing.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Metro Exodus look outrageously good :wow:

In Tomb Raider I’m all maxed out and have much better benchmarks than that. There was a big driver update a few weeks ago that bumped up performance big time in Shadow of The Tomb Raider.

With Metro, I also have much better performance. Not sure what “worst case” means, but that seems like a situation that is outside of normal operations :yeshrug:

the Metro Exodus benchmark is pretty harsh. it doesn't really represent the performance you'll see 90% of the time

Alright y’all, Imma finally build a pc. I want to play any game that’s out/coming out in the next 2 years at 1440p/60 FPS at max settings; as well as stream.

With the info above, can I get all of that(monitor included) for $1500 or $2000. If so, what build and monitor should I cop.

Wonder if I should sell my current Ryzen build and my old PC build and start anew.

Also sell the unopened Z370 motherboard I have lying around.

I'd consider a better cpu cooler. Instead of a 120mm water cooler you can buy a better performing air cooler at 60 dollars, like an nhu 14 s. Would perform better without risk of pump failure over time.
Or maybe get a cheaper power supply (around 100) and but the extra 50 dollars towards a 240mm water cooler.

Does the Freesync monitor have g-sync support? If not, stay with the g-sync since you’re getting an Nvidia gpu
