Been conflicted on whether to buy a 3770K and max out this old system or just building a whole new gaming rig.
Wait till next gen i7 chip
I suggest you buy whatever monitor you want to max out at first though.

The 3770K is still a very capable CPU, but I would start upgrading parts you can bring forward at this point. Leave Ivy Bridge with DDR3 in the past and not spend another dime on that core.Been conflicted on whether to buy a 3770K and max out this old system or just building a whole new gaming rig.

A new gaming rig is estimated at $420-450 if you're smart and frugal about it.
Go Ryzen, Intel lost, also with the Ryzen all you will need is 4gig GPU and that chip will handle the rest.
This
No. If you’re going 1080p, medium, then maybe. The CPU is not going to make up for a budget GPU, regardless of whether it is Intel or AMD. There’s no way that $420 is gonna let you play at 1440p or 4K, never mind with a 144hz monitor. If you’re going to only spend $420, it’s better to just buy a PS4 pro or X1X
@CiggavelliSo that Anthem demo was running on two 1080 TI's in SLI at E3...
But watch it somehow NOT support SLI when it officially launches on PC
8600KGoing for a budget build for music/gaming at 1080p. Any cpu using a lga 1151 intel base i can cop for the sub 300 bucks?

I didn’t realize you got that monitor. Nice. Definitely exchange it. For $2K it better be perfectThe PG27UQ is giving me lighting problems like a gloomy kind of look. I'm going to exchange it for another. So far with AA off, I've played several games like counterstrike in 4K, all games are struggling to reach over 100 fps in 4k.
RX Vega 56 and 64 is tripping my Corsair SF600 wtf even underclocked, even the 1080 ti doesn't do that. So if you are ever looking at a Vega card, be-careful with the powersupply you are using.
Intel stopped being front runners of great things in the consumer PC market.
I love AMD but I hope nvidia next line of cards puts the final coffin to the bullshyt AMD radeon is pulling.
