@duckbutta. I seem to remember you saying you had a full ssd desktop.

What’s the best way to do that? :feedme:

Samsung EVO 850 500GB as the OS drive

Then 3 EVO 850 4TB as my data drives...used primarily for gaming and some 3d modeling stuff my wife does in her spare time.

Since they are used primarily for those two things I don't have them in any raid configuration for redundancy...you plan on that you going to need additional ssd drives for your raid configuration of choice...i got my pc set up how i want, the apps configured how i want, all the games installed, then i used an off site backup company / program to backup and clone the disks...i have one local and one offsite...and if i make enough system or app changes to my machine i will just do that process again...

Also need to know if you want the 4tb drive and you want to use samsung the EVO is the only option, the PRO only goes up to 2 TB...

Not sure what prices are now...the 4TB's where around 1500 a piece when i bought them late last year...around end October...

As far as best "way"...nothing...I didn't do anything special with them or set them up any special way...just installed the OS and all applications on the 500 GB, will all the games and 3d modeling non application stuff on the other 3 drives...

Crazy expensive...but everything on my pc happens pretty much instantaneously...

An all SSD build is also exceptionally cool without all those mechanical hard drive parts...something to consider for gaming builds...

my thing is with these games is they're a lot of fun in the beginning, but eventually there's too much shyt going on. but this is definitely one of the better Total War games I've played

These GPU prices, :hhh:
Yeah, breh. shyt's crazy. I've, ethically, sold 3 GPUs recently, and charged what they were actually worth (not that jacked up shyt). Gamers need to stick together and fight this very troubling crypto bullshyt that is jacking up prices for us all.

I wish these crypto dorks would go back to AMD

For real. Nvidia and AMD are loving this shyt. They can sell out anything. Nah, fukk that shyt, breh. Make your cards assessable to the people that supported you over the years. (How to do that, I dunno). Nvidia better come with substantially better GAMING performance with the new gen of cards. (They won’t though :snoop:)

Nvidia, watch out

Nvidia has "mining" cards, but they have short warranties, no video output, and no performance advantage over their regular card equivalent, so they have little to no resale value, so nobody wants them. Being able to resell the card at even or possibly a profit is making everyone still buy gaming cards. I personally don't think there is a way to stop it. You just have to camp out at Nvidia's direct store and race to get one at MSRP.

It’s true. :francis:

I wish AMD made high end cards again. I mean, if they did, it’ll make Nvidia try harder, at a competitive price. AMD hasn’t had a“the best card of the generation” since the 5870 (which I had, and loved).

like I said before, only thing you can do is sign up to be notified when the cards are in stock, and be ready to jump on it. it's only 3rd parties gouging prices (hopefully that doesn't change :sadcam: )

someone said before that they do make cards specifically for this, but these dudes don't want them because they have limited features and warranty. I understand the concern since these cards are gonna be running at 100% 24/7

AMD needs to bite the bullet here, since no one wants their GPU's for gaming anyway ( :troll: ). make a crypto card with a decent warranty, and it will sell like hotcakes. again, I'm sure the fact that they know peeps will be running these cards into the ground, and then RMA'ing it, is an issue. but that issue also exists when these dudes buy gaming cards

Also, despite what they may say, AMD and Nvidia have no real reason to do anything. They are selling every single card they can produce, with zero effort. They aren't gouging, but they have to be ecstatic having a 100% sell through rate. Most businesses would kill for that. If they ramp up production to meet supply, they may flood the market if people all of a sudden stop mining. If used cards flood EBay, and cost MSRP or less, only the hardest of the hardcore will bother with a new card (especially at 3K for the Titan V:gucci:)

at some point it should be a concern for them if gamers straight up can't get their hands on cards

I agree. I think we’re at this point now. Nvidia needs to do a goodwill gesture. What that should be, I dunno, but they need to do something (if they care about long term business). Gamers are taking notice! Some people will always buy “best,” but most gamers aren’t like that.

Nvidia put out a bullshyt statement, but that's just PR. All you can do is F5 and buy quick, or pony up.
