AMD GPU department :hhh:

That Indian guy had the nerve to be saying poor Volta a few weeks:martin:

:upsetfavre:

Nothing wrong with Vega itself but it's really a year late. Then the power consumption is a step back. It performs the same as a GTX 1080 but it consumes more power. 245 - 345 watts vs 180 watts.

They might have made a bad investment in HBM memory. Expensive and it currently shows no improvements over GDDR memory.

The other thing is clock for clock it performs the same as the R9 Fury X which is old meaning they haven't improved their IPC.

Damn the I7 4790k doesn't support DDR4 as well?
nope. only Haswell-E (i7-5820K, i7-5930K, i7-5960X), Skylake (6xxx), and up

it's really the CPU that needs to support it. so there's no reason to make a mobo that supports DDR4 if the socket type is for a CPU that doesn't support DDR4

Is the jump from 1080p to 1440p worth it?
at 27"....most definitely. You will be amazed at how much better it looks. I used to be all 3 monitors at 1080p for my gaming, then I bought a cheap (but good) Korean 1440p, and I was like "holy shyt, this 1440p looks so much better...fukk 3 monitor gaming at 1080p."

I actually have 3 1440ps that I'm saving up until the day that the goddamn gpu companies make a strong enough card.

Right now, I play at 4 and 5K (when it's possible). To be honest, the jump from 1080p to 1440p is much bigger than the 1440p to 4/5K jump (especially with 27" monitors [the standard really]).

You can also get a g-sync/free-sync monitor at 1440 for a relatively cheaper price too.

(don't get me wrong, I love 4/5K and won't play a game at anything under 4K, unless I'm forced to, but 1440p gaming is still nice)

DO you just see more on the screen it does not make the picture look better?

You can adjust the scaling on your monitor. I use the default one, which makes everything look better but just as big as a 1080p monitor. Or you can take scaling off and have really small text, but a lot of real-estate
