It is there only choice. They are no match for them. It also explains why they didn't kill them already.

I agree they'll probably go this way, but if they totally flip sides and force the Humans to ally with the Krill, this show could be legendary.

Based on the fact that the episode is called "Identity", I suspect that
The Kaylons rebooted Isaac's personality when they reset him. So the version of "Isaac" walking around now has his memories but not the emotions he was starting to develop. But "true love" will make his feelings come back :manny:

great episode. 5-10 mins in, I kinda thought they were gonna go Measure of a Man route, but after they reactivated him, knew they'd be on some :demonic: borg steez

Their eyes becoming :violent::bustback: is dope

Their round ships like the Borg Spheres too

About the eyes...
In an earlier episode, Isaac mentioned that his "eyes" were just there to make him look more relatable to humanoids.

Now we know he was lying and we've been looking at gun barrels the whole time :picard:

I disagree. They (and we) spent over 20 episodes believing Isaac was an emissary to help the Kaylon decide if they wanted to join the Planetary Union, only to find he was basically a sleeper agent to help them decide if they needed to wipe them out as they tried to colonize the galaxy. Isaac was complicit in all this, and he complicit in several members of The Orville getting killed, so there's no way he can go back to being "Tactless yet lovable robot buddy" on the crew.

Even if he does defect from the Kaylon, there's no way Union Command lets him stay on The Orville, or that he can resume his relationship with Doctor Finn like nothing happen.

Only way I can see anything else happening is if they still have unaired episodes with Isaac on the bridge. This show has a history of doing reshoots due to episodes airing out of order, but I'd hope Fox would have enough foresight not to do that.

As far as the crewmembers getting killed when they boarded the ship, I think they'll try to say that the post-reboot Isaac isn't "our" Issac because they rebooted whatever part of him that contained his personality/emotions when they opened up his face mask and messed with the wiring in his head.

Originally, Kaylon Primary told him that Isaac would be disassembled. But instead of disassembling him they rewired/reprogrammed him in some way and woke him back up. So I think they're going with the old "the real Isaac is in there somewhere" gag, e.g.:

This was a very pleasant surprise. They’re following TNGs playbook verbatim and it’s producing outstanding television. If this 2nd part is handled right this show is going to go to the next level, just like TNG did with the Borg

This episode is a perfect example of why not to get involved with a single mother.

Isaac plans to leave and Doctor Finn is like, "Well, what are you gon tell my kids? :usure:"

bytch, they're your kids. I don't give a fukk bout them little shytheads!

I wonder how these events played out in the original timeline? They met Pria, “the first woman to honey pot Ed,” who was going to snatch the Orville out of that time to sell it in the future, since it was destroyed and everyone died. Which means that Issac would have been destroyed, and Kaylon wouldn’t have received the majority of his findings.
