Fixed that for you.

Lakers been rebuilding since the Spurs series in 2013, please stop the bullshyt. We missed the playoffs every single year from 2013 until AD got here and we immediately won a championship. Nobody was coming to Los Angeles, with free agents preferring the Clippers over us.

We would STILL be a team missing the playoffs without LeBron.

LeBron been here for 6 years

2019 Bron Got Hurt
2020 Won Title
2021 AD got hurt in playoffs, Bron hurt during the season
2022 Westbrook Fiasco, AD hurt, Bron hurt
2023 WCF Bid
2024 Now (season isn't over)

These LeBron years have been marred by injuries and mismanagement of personnel. Even then, they delivered a title and made the playoffs 2 times.

GreatestLaker posted an image earlier that was relevant, here it is again:

Pay attention to the Laker years, vs the 2nd Cavs stint and the Miami stint.

What stands out is the Cavs and Miami surrounded LeBron with SHOOTERS, something LA has failed to do every single year he's been here outside of the Bubble year.

Miami gave him Ray Allen (40%), Mario Chalmers (37%), Shane Battier (38%), James Jones (42%) and Mike Miller (41%)

Cleveland gave him James Jones again (41%), Kyle Korver (44%), Kyrie Irving (39%) J.R. Smith (38%) and Kevin Love (38%)

LeBron with SHOOTERS is a proven system. It works, period. In the Bubble, the Lakers had Danny Green (37%), Markeif Morris (36%) and KCP (39%)

So, if we want to salvage this season, Los Angeles needs to make moves for guys that can shoot.

Buddy Hield is being made available, and we know Lavine is on the trade block. They are both shooters (Lavine and Hield shoot 38%)
This is a lie. Kawhi was coming to LA but didn’t wanna play with Bron

Lonnie wasn't defensible but I don't think he would have stayed because of Ham. Was in the doghouse last season for no reason. Him and Schroder were massive losses.

Malik, they couldn't bring back because they could only pay him like $2 million and Sacramento offered more.

Caruso was on the cheap ass ownership. That was fukking disgusting and McMenamin has no credibility the way he ran PR for them after that debacle.

Lopez was on Magic: Magic Johnson admits that the Lakers not re-signing Brook Lopez was his mistake, attempts to justify moving on from Julius Randle and Ivica Zubac
Malik Monk is still on Pelinka. He signed him to a one year deal instead of giving him the MLE. Instead he used it to sign Kedrick Nunn.

Exactly why it was defensible. It was either Ham or Lonnie. And obviously they weren't getting rid of Ham. And if Ham is there Lonnie's mins continue to get fukked with..

Nobody else was bidding for him. You are unable to be rational when it comes to Pelinka. :pjlol:
We would have been able to sign him to a 2 year deal instead of 1. Again that's on Pelinka.

A little over looked fact. Pelinka signed THT to a 2 year contract instead of a 3 year. Every other gm in the league signed their second rounders to 3 year deals. Look how that turned around and screwed us over at the end. With both THT and Caruso.

Pelinka is the downfall of this franchise. Find me a current gm that has shown this level of incompetence.

What’s that got to do with what I said?

Everything.....You created another thread calling Lebron's tenure with the Lakers a failure even though he won a championship, or as some of you would call it..."A Bubble ring".......Kawhi would be ringless ring now and a bigger so-called failure than Lebron..........That's my issue with some of you....Y'all clamor for players that have tried to emulate Lebron but failed.....Many Laker fans on this board wanted PG13 and Kawhi instead of Lebron, but what have they won since arriving in LA?

Brotha, the comment you made was no stars wanted to come here until Lebrons that’s not true, Kawhi was very close to coming but decided he wanted to ply with PG :heh: Y’all always crying about something

This is a urban legend that needs to die.

What actually happened is Magic fukked that up by publicly announcing he was going to be meeting with Kawhi, who at the time was quietly considering the Raptors or LAL. Kawhi later came out and said he was waiting on whatever decision Paul George made because he wanted to play with him. So he took the Raptors deal, and it was PG that swayed his decision, not LeBron.

It was extremely similar to the Bosh deal-- Cleveland/Bron was trying to lure Chris Bosh in 2011, and he decided on Miami, which led to LeBron getting traded to the Heat. They were all going to play in Cleveland, but Bosh was the catalyst (and I don't blame him-- who the fukk wants to play in Cleveland over south Florida???)

In any case, I as a Laker fan preferred LeBron over Kawhi. At the time, Kawhi was injury prone, missing hella games, and Pop didn't want to trade him to us out of spite for Kobe and Shaq shytting on him in the playoffs all them years.

LeBron was just coming off one of the greatest Playoff runs in history, and we were on our 5 straight year of missing the Playoffs. It was a no-brainer. It just so happened that was the year Kawhi got lucky and everyone on the Warriors got hurt in the Finals.

LeBron > Kawhi, period.

If you know Herb Jones is on a good contract for a rotation player. Then the pels likely know that. What are the Lakers giving up for herb Jones that the pels say yes too?

The Pelicans have been keen on our draft picks since 2020. We have a second round pick that's available, and perhaps we can get a deal with a third team that fills a need they want. As I mentioned, DFS is a player of interest and Brooklyn might want to get in on a three team deal, where we send Brooklyn D'Lo and Rui, the Pelicans our second round pick, they send DFS to us, Royce O'Neale to NO, and NO sends us Herb.

That gives the Lakers 2 two-way shooters, the Pelicans a defensive forward and draft considerations, and the Nets get D'Lo and Rui, two starting caliber players for them.

The Lakers need to shore up around the margins, not necessarily make a big splash move like Lavine.

Herb Jones is better and cheaper than Royce Oneal now and likely better than anyone they can get with Lakers second round pick.
