Unless you need that TV now you could wait till Black Friday sales and get an LG oled. The 55 inch ones are $1599 right now so they could come down some more.
Personally I'm waiting for an HDMI 2.1 TV so 2018 models.
Save a little more and get an LG OLED. Anything less is a compromise.

I haven't read a lot on them, but the AVS consensus is that OLED is still the move for right now. I'm sticking with mine for at least another 3 years, so I haven't been looking really.
QLED is a marketing phrase for quantam dot LED TVs. It's as much a marketing phrase as LED TVs which are really LCD TVs. It's a bunch of bullshyt designed to fool people that don't even research what they're buying.
